Even though Link is strapped with loads of weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, sometimes his best option is simply throwing what is around him. Plenty of the enemy camps in the games have a couple items that can be picked up and thrown to deal tons of damage. Link can even throw some enemies at others to knock out two at the same time.
How to throw a weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)
When Link has a weapon equipped in Tears of the Kingdom, he can throw it just by pressing the R button on the Nintendo Switch. If players simply throw a weapon on the ground in front of them, it will leave their inventory unless they pick up the weapon again. If thrown at an enemy, though, the weapon will deal damage. Some weapons are meant to be used this way, like Boomerangs.
Players actually can deal more damage by throwing a weapon that is about to break. If a weapon is about to run out of durability and it's thrown at an enemy, it will always deal a critical hit. This is a great way to finish off an annoying monster or boss.

Players can throw items with the R button as well. To throw an item found on the ground, though, players first need to pick it up. Doing this helps a lot when Pebblits attack around other enemies: Pebbles are the little rocks that look like mini-Taluses.
I always end up throwing these Pebblits at other enemies. Whenever exploring The Depths, the Pebblits usually show up right when I'm deal with another enemy camp. I could deal with each enemy one by one, but I'm lazy, so I just toss the Pebblits at the other enemies.
