WarGames is a unique wrestling match that pits two teams of wrestlers against each other, set in two side-by-side rings surrounded by a steel cage. The first WarGames match took place in 1987 by Crockett Promotions, which would later become WCW. WarGames was shelved when WWE purchased WCW, however, it returned in 2017 on NXT. Survivor Series 2022 featured WarGame matches, and now players can experience them in WWE 2K23.
WWE 2K23 WarGames is a multiplayer mode where teams of three or four are pitted against each other in two side-by-side rings surrounded by a steel cage. The match starts with a one-on-one and after five minutes, another participant enters. After that, each three-minute interval marks when the next participant can enter. Once every member is in the cage, the match can be won by pinfall or submission.

One aspect of WarGames that is not known is how participant orders will be handled. While the first team to enter will have a 2 vs. 1 handicap, the last participant to enter will be fresher. WarGames match order historically was determined by a coin flip, however, the recent WWE version held matches to determine who had the advantage.
The addition of WarGames will give online players another way to participate in competitive matches. Since each match consists of teams of three or four, teamwork is very important. The double ring and steel cage setup will enable a lot of interesting moves and exciting finishes.
WWE 2K23 will also feature games such as MyGM, MyFaction, MyRise, and Universe mode. Players can enjoy a career, design their own show, collect and fight trading cards, or jump online for various matches, including WarGames.
