How to get back online and gaming.

World War 3 is a popular free-to-play first-person shooter aimed at the multiplayer PVP market. The game's maps and gear are inspired by real-world locations and items while being purely fictional in terms of the story playing the game creates. The fact the game is purely PVP means a good connection to the game’s servers is vital to success. So, if you’re having this specific issue, below we’ll discuss how to fix World War 3 error 151.

Are World War 3 servers down?

If you get the message Something went wrong: Error 151 it is a problem connecting your computer with the game’s servers. While this could be a problem with your internet at home, it is also possible that the game’s servers are under maintenance or overloaded. We suggest you follow the list of options below to try and get yourself back in-game:

  1. Check for maintenance: Server maintenance is the curse of all online gamers, but it can easily be monitored. For World War 3, you can check in with the official Twitter account at @ww3thegame to see if the game is currently down. Also note that if you’re trying to log in after a particularly long maintenance or major content update, there may be a lot of players trying to get online at the same time.
  2. Check your internet connection: Even if you’re able to surf the net, your internet connection could be slow enough that you can’t run the game. Try to restart your game machine and your router (leave both off for at least a minute), or if using Wi-Fi, try a manual connection to increase your internet speed.
  3. Customization tab workaround: some players have reported that if, after trying to enter the game, they hit the customization tab and wait to be connected, they get in every time. This may well work for you and is certainly worth a try.

Unfortunately, if these don’t work, you're likely just going to have to wait until the server numbers die down a bit. The changing of the game to F2P has obviously gone down well with the FPS community, leaving the devs understandably struggling to deal with increased numbers. Hopefully, they will resolve the backend issues soon.
