What is Semantle?

Semantle is a word-guessing game inspired by the hit game Wordle. Unlike Wordle where you guess a word based on letters, in Semantle, you guess based on meaning. This means that studying a thesaurus will make you a lot better at the game. It is free to play, just like Wordle.

How do you play Semantle?

Semantle is played by using an unlimited number of guesses to try and find the word. Do not capitalize words as you guess, but otherwise, you're pretty free to guess what you'd like. With each guess, you'll be told how close you are. The word is found by similar meanings rather than similar spellings.

Semantle best strategies

Here are some strategies you should try for Semantle:

  • Take your time. The game is not timed and only resets every 24 hours, so there's no need to rush.
  • There are no limits on how often you can guess, so feel free to guess everything you can think of.
  • Remember that how close you are is based on the word's definition, not its spelling. It's easy to get stuck on spelling like in Wordle, but remembering that meaning is key will help you perform better.
  • When in doubt, don't hesitate to guess random words to spark your mind.
