How to play Foodle, the food-related Wordle game

A food word game.

Foodle is a word game developed by Daniel Anyanwoke and inspired by Wordle. The biggest difference between Foodle and Wordle is that Foodle requires players to think of food answers. The game took off shortly after being developed, and playing it is pretty easy.

Players must think of five-letter words to put in, with the answer being a food-related word, like icing. You'll receive feedback from the colors depending on what word you typed in. Green means the letter is in the correct spot, yellow means the letter is correct but in the wrong spot, and gray means the letter doesn't belong in the word at all.

We recommend starting with sauce because it takes care of three vowels. After six attempts to guess the word correctly, you'll have to try again the next day. Foodle has a daily correct answer, just like Worldle. Each day, a new word answer is added to the Foodle Website, so you can come back every day for a new challenge. Foodle is more likely to appeal to chefs and food industry enthusiasts than the other Wordle spin-offs.
