If you are a beginner and confused about the potential of each leader in the game? Don't worry! I have compiled a Warcraft Rumble Tier List for all the leaders with rankings. Learn and study about each leader and know when to use them.
Since the capacity of the leaders varies from scenario to scenario, I have made separate tier lists for PVP, first pick, and overall.

All the best first Leaders in Warcraft Rumble, ranked
After finishing level 2 in the game, players must choose a leader from the three available options. When you face that challenge as a beginner, use the following tier list and pick the best option.
S- Tier
The following units are the best leaders for beginners. Pick them at any cost if you find them.
Baron Rivendare
Baron is the best beginner-friendly leader in the game due to his ability to spawn skeletons. These skeletons can protect resources and auto-attack buildings, making your initial phase of the game easy. So, if you find a Baron, select it!
Grommash Hellscream
The chieftain of orc- Grommash Hellscream is another equally solid first pick for players who would prefer a leader that provides perks to allies. Equip Grommash to provide constant heals and boost movement speed during critical situations using the Bloodlust ability.
Rend Blackhand
Rend Blackhand is a blessing for people who prefer using air units for their battles due to his passive perk that allows players to purchase flying units at a much lower price. Go for Rend if your strategy is to deploy air units through the initial stages.
A- Tier
Though they are not as effective as S-Tier units, they are solid picks and must be opted if you do not get the above characters.
Tirion Fordring
Tirion Fordring is a pure support character that can provide tons of healing for your troops during battle. So, if you want to make your battle go longer or wait for that magical ability to recharge, Trion will make that happen.
Bloodmage Thalnos
Bloodmage is a spell-based unit that relies on leveling up his spell. Due to this, he may not be that effective in the initial stage, as it takes time and cost to level up. But if you manage to go past that stage, he is a menace to deal with in the end stage of battles.
B-Tier
All characters in the B-Tier are decent but not that great. So, only pick these characters if there is no other option.
Sneed
Sneed is a challenging leader to master for beginners as his core mechanics, like coin generation, may not be fruitful in the battle for players compared to someone Grommash. Also, his attacks like siege are inconsistent for dishing out continuous melee output.
Cairne Bloodhoof
Cairne Bloodhoof is a fantastic leader, as he can scale the health of horde-style units. Though his skill is valuable, the real problem is to find a perfect deck for him, as the horde units are expensive and may put you out of budget during the initial phase.
Hogger
Hogger is a miss or hit for beginners as it's confusing to grasp the skill of using low-level units and recycling them back to him for scaling abilities. But, if you think that's something that would be suitable for your mind, go for Hogger.
Jaina Proudmoore
Jaina works very similar to Bloodmage as she also focuses on leveling up spells and using them late-game. The only difference is that she is a bit expensive compared to the former.
General Drakkisath
General Drakkisath is purely suitable for veteran players. His primary ability to make enemy players take more elemental damage relies on building decks featuring elemental units, making newbies reliant on a few units instead of experimenting in the early phase.
C- Tier
Never pick any of the following units, as they are suited for veteran players of the game and maybe viable if they can get a buff/rework to fulfill beginner needs.
Charlga Razorflank
Charlga Razorflank also falls in the category of Hogger, as you need to understand in-depth mechanics like exchanging costs and building decks using unbound units to make her cost-effective. Please stay away if you have just installed the game on your mobile.
Maiev Shadowsong
Maiev Shadowsong is just another Charlga Razorflank, as you can decrease the cost of units with unbound traits, which demands you to build a deck with unbound characters. These are advanced strategies that should be left for veterans to experiment with.
Old-Murk Eye
The old-Murk is purely a PVP unit due to his insane spell abilities that allow him to push off waves of enemies. Though it may sound simple, you must predict the time to use his abilities, making it harder for newbies.

All Leaders in Warcraft Rumble, ranked
S-Tier
All the following leaders are the best for every mode in the game.
Tirion Fordring
Tirion Fordring is the best overall leader in Warcraft Rumble. He has everything you need in a leader - healing capabilities, a large HP pool, and resilience. You should have the unit in the game and try to include him in your build.
Rend Blackhand
Rend is another top-tier leader in the game that focuses on using air units. Though he may sound like a niche leader with typical builds, he excels in every scenario, making him a compulsory pick for most games. Also, unlike other leaders, he is simple to use as he only grants cost-reduction perks.
A - Tier
The following set of characters are great leaders and should be up for consideration if you are unlucky in finding S-Tier units.
Bloodmage Thalnos
For people reliant on using spells, Bloodmage is the way to go, as you can scale your single target damage and AOE range after using a spell. Initially, you have to play a bit passive. But once you start using spells and scale stat numbers, you are indestructible!
Sylvanas Windrunner
Sylvanas Windrunner is a great leader if you rely on using horde and undead minions on your deck, as you can use the Forsaken Fury ability to boost other units as long as they stand near in her vicinity. She is also an excellent aggressor, enabling you to gain areas quickly and take control of resources.
General Drakkisath
General Drakkisath is another leader who ranks among the best if you are confident using units with elemental traits. Equip troops like Living Bomb, Ogre Mage, and Deep Breath in your deck and utilize the 50% more elemental damage provided by General Drakkisath to cause havoc on the opponent. Learn this one-trick strategy and move up the rank using Drakkisath.
Grommash Hellscream
Grommash Hellscream is one of the best tank leaders in the game that can take quite a beating. You can use this large HP pool to soak up damage while pushing. Along with that, you can use his Blood Lust ability to boost the movement/damage stat of other nearby allies up to 30% for a small period, allowing you to go all aggressive during such a push. Select him if you love playing aggressively.
Baron Rivendare
Baron Rivendare is one of those heroes who can molded according to your gameplay style. For example, if you need heals periodically, you use the Death Pact perk that sacrifices your skeleton for some heals. On the other hand, if you need a movement/damage boost, select the Skeletal Frenzy. In short, he is versatile and chooses the talent that matches your playstyle.
B-Tier
Cairne Bloodhoof
Cairne Bloodhoof provides 20% more health to horde-type troops. So, build a deck with horde-type units and penetrate enemy lines. Along with that, the Talent abilities are also pretty OP. For example, the Reincarnation ability allows you to spawn again only for 250 gold coins at 50% health, which is game-changing for late game. Do check out Cairne Bloodhoof and equip him in your squad.
Sneed
Sneed is a very tactical unit that requires a lot of Siege damage units on your deck to make his Sneed Before Greed talent work that provides an extra two gold coins for every chess opened, stone captured, and tower destroyed. Though he may look similar to the Drakkisath, there are very few Siege trait units, making it extremely difficult to build a deck around him, proving less effective.
Jaina Proudmoore
Jaina Proudmoore is also a solid leader in Warcraft Rumble. Then why does she feature in B-Tier? Well, her Arcane Brilliance ability only increases the level of your spells by three tiers if you stay alive. So, if you can survive the fight for an elongated period, go for Jaina Proudmoore. Otherwise, there are far better leaders in the above tiers.
Old Murk-Eye
Old Murk-Eye is a decent leader who mainly focuses on improving the life duration of Murloc Tidehunters by 5 seconds. Even though they are cheap, fast, and extremely good at supporting tanks, they are weak individually and need continuous protection. Due to this, your mid to early-game scenarios are tough to handle against good PVP players, who can target your Tidehunters after eliminating other troops protecting them.
Charlga Razorflank
Charlga Razorflank is another unique leader that focuses on reducing the cost of your minis. Instead of a fixed amount, the rate depends on the minis in your hand. So, if they are expensive, your cost rises, and if they are cheap, you get freebies. So, it all boils down to luck. If you think you can overcome and control this probability, Charlga may suit your profile.
D- Tier
Hogger
Hogger may look like a decent leader on cards due to his Relentless Hunger ability that allows you to scale movement or attack speed. Then why is he in D-Tier? Well, this stat boost only applies to himself for a short duration and does not bring any other utility for ally troops. In a game like Warcraft Rumble, team-based abilities decide the outcome. So, it's better to choose something better as you climb PVP ladders.
Maiev Shadowsong
Maiev Shadowsong also suffers from the same problem of deck building as Sneed. Here, players must build a deck with Unbound units to fully utilize the Master Assassin ability that lowers spawn cost by one gold for the Unbound unit. Like the former, there are very few Unbound units to build strong decks, making you rely on few troops. Only go for Maiev Shadowsong if you are confident with the movement characteristics of Unbound units.
Top Leaders for PVP in Warcraft Rumble
If you are more into the PVP mode of Warcraft Rumble, you should unlock and keep these leaders in your profile.
- Tirion Fordring
- Rend Blackhand
- Hogger
- Jaina Proudmore
- General Drakkisath
Each of the above leaders not only excels in combat but also helps in boosting the overall morale of the team. I have mentioned these leaders because they suit my playstyle. Choose leaders based on your gameplay strategies and build decks around them. For example, a build around General Drakkisath is only viable if you use elemental trait units in the deck to use his ability to the maximum. So, if you are uncomfortable building a deck like that, don't do it. Instead, focus on your strengths and select leaders based on them.
After all, comfortability and effectiveness are all the matters to excel in a PVP environment. Use the above list for reference while picking a leader in PVP battles. Experiment with what works for you and build upon that. It will take time. So, be patient and keep grinding.
