What does the Konami Code do in Vampire Survivors?

The Konami Code is an iconic cheat code that has become a part of video game lore, with it appearing in almost all classic Konami games. But what about Vampire Survivors, a game inspired by the Konami game Castlevania? Well, recently, it’s been discovered that the Konami Code does do something in Vampire Survivors.

If you enter the Konami Code in the home screen of Vampire Survivors, you'll receive 2800 gold and unlock Mortaccio, the skeleton character. This bypasses the normal requirement to unlock him. That method requires you to kill a total of 3000 skeletons.

If you've forgotten the Konami Code, sometimes known as the Contra Code, it's Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. But in Vampire survivors, it's slightly altered Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Escape, Enter. If you've entered it correctly, you'll hear the game's level-up sound.

Don't worry if you've already unlocked Mortaccio, you can still get the 2800 gold by entering the code. However, it doesn't seem like the code can be entered multiple times to farm gold quickly. But it's still a nice little boost to your funds no matter what.
