The Bombs in Final Fantasy pack a punch, especially at the beginning of the game. They can be staggered with enough Combo Abilities or Action Abilities and can even be taken by surprise in Chaos Shrine. The treasure in the hallway will catch the eye of the player quickly, but there are other paths to get through as well.
Taking The Alternate Route
Just past the first Bomb in the hallway is a path to the right where players can fight some Goblins. Destroying the Darkness that spawns them will also make a path that goes past the first set of Bombs in the hallway. Continuing forward rather than going left will lead to more Goblins and more Darkness where players can make yet another bridge that leads all the way behind the Bombs and to a Cube. A Cactuar will spawn as well for some loot just after the second bridge but has a chance of running away.

Bomb Weaknesses
After resting at the Cube, players can either take the Bombs by surprise from behind with whatever gear they have or open the chest by the wall of fire. This will unlock Mage, and with it, Water Magic. Holding down the Action Ability button and charging it to unleash Waterga will quickly deal with the Bombs and Goblin in the hallway.
Alternatively, the Swordfighter Job possesses Interception, an Ability that will automatically block incoming damage a single time and retaliate with an attack. This is especially useful as Magic Attacks can't be fully blocked unless it's with the Soul Shield. Swordsman is also useful and does good area of effect damage.
