The best way to complete the No Sudden Moves quest – Starfield

Time to raid a pirate ship!

After a while of playing Starfield, I became quite an expert on hunting the alien artifacts while playing through main missions. They usually involved shooting your way through a mineshaft, but the tenth mission called No Sudden Moves, really threw a curveball my way. Let's dig straight into how to make a perfect run (be sure to save your progress).

To acquire the No Sudden Moves mission in Starfield, you must speak to Vladimir, who you can find in the Eye as he repairs the station. You will get a single partner for this mission, and it happens to be the one you like the least, which will come into play right after in the High Price to Pay. Vladimir will tell you that to get the next artifact piece, you must visit the Crimson Fleet Captain Petrov aboard The Scow. There are multiple ways to go about this, but I will cover the most optimal one I found.

The best way to board The Scow in the No Sudden Moves mission in Starfield is to persuade the crewman to let you board. You can also let your crewmember speak for you, but since I decided to use Barrett with me, I was denied and had to reload a save. It could be because of his history with the Crimson Fleet, but using my character's powers of persuasion and charm, I managed to get on board (all the while keeping my finger gently on the trigger of rocket launchers).

How to get the artifact from Petrov in the No Sudden Moves mission in Starfield

There are several ways to get the artifact from Petrov in the No Sudden Moves mission in Starfield, but your best bet is to steal it from him. You can try stealing a key from him and, if you leveled up your stealth skill, sneak your way into the vault or by doing the snatch and run, which I did. Once you reach the topic of the artifact, he will openly admit he has possession of it in his vault. You will have to use your charm to persuade him to show you the artifact. This time, I chose to let Barrett stick to the shadows since the pirates obviously don't keep him in high regard.

Once you enter the vault with Petrov, simply take the artifact and start shooting at him immediately. Unfortunately, I came to the conclusion there was no way to persuade him to give up the artifact peacefully, but attacking him does give you benefits. Once he yields, spare his life, and you will be able to loot his ship freely.
