One of these issues is the equ8 initialization error. The cause of this issue seems to be related to its anti-cheat software. While frustrating, there are a couple of solutions for players that are hit with this error. You can find these solutions below:

  • Restart your computer and relaunch Steam.
  • Select Splitgate and verify the integrity of its game files.
  • Make sure Window's is up to date.

To verify Splitgate's game files, find them in your library. Then right-click on it and select properties. Navigate to local files, and you should see the option to verify the integrity of game files. Select this, and after a few minutes, the process should be complete.
