Sonic Superstars Golden Enemies all level locations

Golden Enemies drop medallions, an in-game currency used in the store to purchase cosmetic upgrades for your robot prototype. Even if you've used a checkpoint, any death in the level will remove all medallions, Golden Enemies killed, and anything else collected in the level from your inventory; you'll need to start the level over, find the medallions and Golden Enemies again, then clear the level without a death.

To double-check check you've picked up the Golden Enemy in a level, go to the world map and walk into the portal of that level. A picture of the Golden Enemy will appear between the Best Score/Time and the Play Act button. If the picture does not appear, then you have not defeated that level's Golden Enemy. Here are all the Golden Enemies you can find in Sonic Superstars.

World 1 - Bridge Island, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

After seeing the giant, robotic fish in the background (just past the first checkpoint), there will be several moving platforms at the top of the level, a ramp in the center, and a bridge over a waterfall at the lower part of the level. There is a golden crab enemy in the middle section immediately after the ramp, left of one of the giant rings in this part of Sonic Superstars.

This Golden Enemy is located on a high platform toward the end of the level. In order to get to it, you'll either need to use Tails or have one of the Chaos Emerald powers that will let you jump all the way up there.

World 2 - Speed Jungle, Act 1

This golden frog is at the very top and slightly to the right of the extra ring balloons. You can find this platform immediately above a checkpoint after the first vine-riding section.

World 2 - Speed Jungle, Act Sonic

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This Golden Enemy is located in the Sonic-exclusive act in the Speed Jungle; it can be found after the speed boosts shoot Sonic around two square "loops." After that, jump up onto the vine that has a yellow bounce button on the right to bounce back up and to the left. Once you reach the rotating platforms, ride them up and to the left as far as possible to find this golden bug.

During the second darkness phase of Speed Jungle, Act 2, there is a golden moth at the top left. Be wary of spikes on the ceiling and floor, which make getting to the Golden Enemy much more dangerous.

World 3 - Sky Temple, Act 1

After the first section with the massive fans launching you into the air, jump up on the platform to the left. There will be a loop-de-loop; zoom through that loop, then keep running left until you hit a block. Above this block is a platform with balloons leading up to it. The golden bug is there.

World 4 - Pinball Carnival, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This Golden Enemy spawns close to the starting point of World 4 Act 1. Keep heading up and right past the pinball platforms to find it.

High above the second set of trains is a platform with a childish sketch of Sonic carved into one of the walls. Left of it is a platform accessible by train with a glowing spider web on it. Here, you will find the "Golden" Enemy in this level; it's actually a small plush Tails that floats around. In spite of it not being shiny, it counts as this level's gold enemy.

Take the first loopy slide, then head up onto the platform to take the second slide. Keeping head up and right to take the third loop. Once you reach the balancing platforms with the balloons above them, go right until you find a waterfall. Use Tails' fly power or the water-climbing Chaos Emerald power to get to the top of the waterfall and the golden seal enemy will be to the left.

World 5 - Lagoon City, Act Amy

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The golden enemy in the Amy level of Lagoon City is pretty challenging to find. In order to get there, you will need to stay out of the water. Amy is incredibly heavy, and there is no swimming out of the water once you're stuck in it. Here are the directions to get to the Golden Enemy:

  • Take the first slide, then the second slide.
  • After the giant pineapple, wait until the bridge is lit up. If you walk across before it is lit up, you will fall into the water.
  • Hit the checkpoint, then begin to climb on the platforms past the exploding grapes.
  • There will be a floating platform above the grapes; hop to that.
  • Take all four of the floating platforms across the gap and take the swinging platforms up.
  • Ride the squirting hoses up. This will land you in a C-shaped loop thing. Zoom up and around it.
  • At the top, there will be two light-up platforms. Jump up on those and walk to the right.
  • Knock the fruit out of the way and walk all the way right.
  • Fall down, then there will be a strawberry cart to the left. Hop over it, and walk left.
  • Fall all the way down to the bottom, then head right.
  • After jumping over some spikes, there will be an opening above you; use the red Emerald or the plant-growing Emerald to get onto the platforms above; the Golden Enemy spawns there.

This golden crab is located high above most of the level, between the first and second checkpoints.

World 6 - Sand Sanctuary, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

There is a golden bird up above the third snake. Jump off of the third snake piece, take two sandfalls up, and ride the snake there backward, jumping until you reach the leftmost platform. Ride the sandfall up, then take the floating platforms up and left. Once you reach the checkpoint, head right to find this Golden Enemy.

World 7 - Press Factory, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

In order to reach this Golden Enemy, you'll need to stay along the bottom path of the Factory, which can be challenging since the whole building likes to throw you up in the air. This is made easier by Tails, who is not moved by the slamming floors while flying. After crossing the first checkpoint, take the lowest path until you hit a dead end. Fly up onto the platform, over the spikes, and continue along this path past the medallion. The gold bug will be past the trap and the two spinning spikes on the giant green screws.

World 7 - Press Factory, Act 2

After riding and then crashing the first rocket, head right along the arrowed path. Keep heading right; if you find the launching, fiery platforms, you are too high, and if you take the upside-down loop-de-loop, you have gone too low. The golden enemy is on the other side of some floating elephant vacuums.

World 8 - Golden Capital, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This golden bug is found after the first section that pushes you back into the plane behind the 2D plane normally played on. It will take you to a pinball section; don't take the plane changer on the bottom, climb up the pinball and take the one higher up instead. Head along this path until you find a bunch of seahorses; use their bubbles to climb up to this golden bug.

World 8 - Golden Capital, Act Knuckles

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This Golden Enemy is incredibly challenging to get to; I recommend following this video by TurtlePM to get through it. You'll need to climb walls, float over entire platforms, and take out-of-your-way paths to reach the Golden Enemy, which is located on a tiny platform overlooking some spikes.

Before taking the second lava-surfing board across the lava lake, make sure to head back to the left and grab this Golden Enemy, which is floating in the middle of a lava pool with a whole bunch of other seahorses.

World 9 - Cyber Station, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

After the long row of arrow doors, ride the blue rail to the right. Once you reach the checkpoint after the blue rail fly upwards with Tails or the red Chaos Emerald power, and look for the golden crab up on the next platform.

World 10 - Frozen Base, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

After the big ring above the third treadmill section, there will be another platform to the right of the giant ring with some trees and snow on it. The Golden Enemy for this level, a robotic bird, spawns there.

World 10 - Frozen Base, Act Tails

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

In the Tails-only section of the Frozen Base, combine his flying ability with the growing vine Emerald power and the red Emerald power to keep moving up and to the right. Take the first loop up above and to the right of the starting zone, and you will come to a hallway of machines that will slam you into the floor and ceiling. Get through this hallway, then fly upwards and find the treadmills. Ride it all the way to the right, then go through the checkpoint, and ride across the next treadmill. At the end of this treadmill, fly up and the golden enemy will be above you.

World 11 - Egg Fortress, Act 1

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This level's Golden Enemy is located after the second all-white section where the level builds itself. It will have two worm-bomb enemies in it, so be wary. Continue right past this, then go through the airlock. After that, immediately fly upwards to find this silly sketch of Sonic on the wall along with a gilded enemy.

World 11 - Egg Fortress, Act 2

During the second section of the stage that deconstructs itself, look for this floating golden worm. It is located just after you ride the pipe down following the third laser section.
