Slime Rancher 2 has a lot of unlockable upgrades and abilities for players to work towards as they play through the game. Many of these upgrades are useful, but nearing the top of the list is the Extra Tank upgrade. How to unlock the Extra Tank in Slime Rancher 2
The Extra Tank upgrade can take a bit to unlock since players need to first get ahold of the Rock Slimes and Resource Harvester before they can get to this upgrade. Players also need to grab enough Newbucks, though they are much easier to come by.
- 450 Newbucks - Obtained by selling Plorts at the Plort Marketplace.
- 10 Rock Plorts - Dropped by Rock Slimes when they are fed.
- 10 Silky Sand - This item is obtained using the Resource Harvester, which is another upgrade unlocked via the Fabricator.
What does the Extra Tank do in Slime Rancher 2
The Extra Tank upgrade gives players an additional Tank on their general-purpose vac. This is extremely useful and will allow players to carry more items as they explore Rainbow Island.

Where to Unlock upgrades in Slime Rancher 2
To get the chance to unlock upgrades, players first need to locate the Fabricator. This machine is located in the underground Lab. This area can be found by heading down the darkened staircase shown in the picture above. It is to the left of the Plort Marketplace.
