Sea of Thieves Season 9 introduces a new piece of loot into the game called the Chest of Fortune. This chest sells for a pretty penny, and will certainly become a treasure chest that pirates of all types will desire to get their hands on.
Where is the Chest of Fortune in Sea of Thieves?
The Chest of Fortune is found inside of the vaults at the Fort of Fortune. These are random events that are signified by the huge red skull looming in the sky over the seas. It's signaled by the blow of a horn, so it's a difficult one to miss.
Players can head over and complete the event by destroying a bunch of skeletons to open up the vault and secure the chest. Keep in mind that these events typically draw a lot of attention, so there's a good chance that other pirates will be there as well trying to get their hands on the chest.
What does the Chest of Fortune sell for in Sea of Thieves?
The Chest of Fortune sells for 20,000 gold when it's turned in to the Gold Hoarders emissary, making it one of the most valuable chests, and it'll also raise reputation for that faction. Perhaps more importantly, turning in this chest will get players closer to unlocking the Fates of Fortune ship set.
The Fates of Fortune ship set is another new Season 9 addition, and players will have to work at filling up a commendation to unlock it. This is done by turning in the Chest of Fortune, so players need to track a lot of those down if they want the bragging rights of a rare ship set.
