Now and again, Smite will give you that dreaded message that it can't connect you to the game. Or worse, it will kick you out of a match you were already playing. While this can be distressing and cause you to frantically look for a reason, the issue is generally resolved on its own. Still, if you've been without your daily dosage of Smite for too long, there are multiple ways to check if the problem is on your end.
Are Smite's Servers Down?
There are many websites to choose from when trying to check the server statuses of your favorite games. With how popular Smite is, it became necessary to keep players in the know if something was amiss. When something does go wrong, we have listed the two best options below to see what's causing the problem.
Option One: The Hi-Rez Studios Website
Hi-Rez is the development company for Smite, and they almost always have the most up-to-date status for the servers on all their games. This is generally the best option to check on Smite since they have the information as it appears.
To check the status on their website, you can follow this link: Hi-Rez Server Status.
Once you're there, you'll see that you have all of their games listed front and center. Each game's tab can be expanded to reveal further information about the servers for each platform the game uses. In the image above, you can see where the list item is for Smite highlighted in red.
Once you have expanded the Smite menu item, it expands. The image above shows you what you might see. If there is a problem with one of the servers, this will be the fastest and best way to know.
Known Issues
Another advantage that this page has when checking the server status is that further down the page, you will see something similar to the image above. This part of the page outlines any recent problems reported and what their status is.

Option Two: Downdetector
Downdetector has one advantage over the Hi-Rez website: It provides accurate server status for many different games, instead of just the games made by Hi-Rez. If you play a variety of games, this is an excellent website to determine server status and recent reported issues and downtime. You can use the Downdetector website to check Smite's servers with this link: Downdetector Smite Server Status.
