Where to find Squid in Rune Factory 5

How hard can it be?

Every Rune Factory has a fishing mechanic in it, and Rune Factory 5 is no different. However, searching for a specific fish is tricky. The type of fish that you catch is dependent on the kind of water the fishing spot has, the season, and, sometimes, even the time of day.

Squids are located in two major parts in Rigbarth during Spring:

  • In the Pond of Hope, or the big pool of water west of The Blue Moon (rare)
  • On the sea at the south of the town (uncommon)

They can also be found in the areas below all year round:

  • On the sea at the south of Phoros Woodlands (uncommon)
  • In the only fishing spot at Bandit King’s Old Base (very common)

You need a rod to be able to fish. It should be given as a request item reward early in the game. Later on, you can craft a Beginner’s Pole, which will allow you attract further fish.

Squids and other sea creatures that you catch can be shipped for a fair price, cooked into food, be gifted to people that like them, or turned in as a request item.
