How to tame Geyser Bear in Rune Factory 5

There is no monster you can’t tame.

Geyser Bear is a boss monster you encounter in Rune Factory 5. It’s the only one that drops Sharp Horns, a rare item used for crafting. Taming it will not produce the items you need, but you do get an amazing monster to aid you in your adventures.

Here’s how to tame it:

  1. Go back to Bandit King’s Old Base 1F after your first battle with it.
  2. Brush Geyser Bear until the music note icon stops appearing above its head. This will make it friendlier toward you and, thus, easier to capture.
  3. Do not attack it. Instead, give it items that it likes. Contrary to its scary appearance, it surprisingly likes fish, specifically Salmon. It also likes Corn grown from Starfall Seeds.
    • You’ll know you’re doing it right once you see the heart icon over its head with every gift. It will take a while, but it will eventually come with you.

If you’re still unsuccessful after many attempts, try again at a higher level. The wider your level gap, the higher its chances of being tamed. Plus, make sure you have space in one of your Barns. Monsters won’t come with you if there is no room. You can add a room to an existing Barn at Studio Palmer.
