You get a Boorito, you get a Boorito!

Another company brand has officially entered the Metaverse—and they've brought guac! On Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 Chipotle announced on Twitter that they will be opening their first ever Roblox experience on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 and with it comes the possibility of some free in-game, and real life, goodies. This experience will feature a fully-replicated, virtual Chipotle restaurant, a maze full of monsters, and an opportunity for players to dress up in some exclusive Chipotle themed costumes.

To celebrate 21 years of Chipotle's notorious BOO-rito Halloween event, which involves restaurant goers dressing up in costumes on Oct. 31 in exchange for a free burrito, Chipotle plans to give away one million dollars worth of free burritos virtually through Roblox. On top of that, promo codes will be given out that will discount any entree ordered through the Chipotle app to just $5.

In an official press release posted earlier this afternoon, Chipotle's Chief Marketing Executive, Chris Brandt, stated his excitement at the new collaboration.

"As a digital innovator, we are always experimenting on new platforms to meet our guests where they are. Roblox's popularity has boomed over the past year, and we know our fans will be excited to celebrate the next evolution of Boorito in the metaverse."

To receive a free Boorito, players will need to follow the steps listed below:

  • Access the Chipotle Boorito Maze experience right as it opens at 5:30 p.m. CT on either Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, or Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021
  • Dress up in a Chipotle-inspired costume (likely provided by the experience)
  • Be one of the first 30,000 customers to visit the Chipotle cashier
  • If you're successful in doing this, you will receive a special promo code that you can enter on either the Chipotle website or in the Chipotle app to claim your free Boorito
    • Only one promo code will be redeemable per person

For those who miss out on the free Boorito, a $5 entree coupon can still be claimed online with the code BOORITO on Halloween while supplies last.

After collecting their free Boorito or promo code, players are encouraged to venture through the Boorito Maze while collecting various Chipotle ingredients and avoiding Halloween themed monsters. All who manage to complete this task will be awarded with a free Chipotle item that changes each day. There will also be in-game items for players to purchase with all proceeds being donated to organizations that support young farmers.

This experience will stay open beyond Halloween, however all prizes will conclude on Oct. 31, 2021. Players who receive a coupon during the allotted time frame will have until Nov. 14, 2021 to use them or else they will expire. The Boorito contest is only open to those over the age of 13 who reside in the United States or Canada.
