Following the success of its previous collab with popular Roblox YouTuber Sharkblox, the digital fashion mogul House of Blueberry has announced its next full-scale event—a partnership with the women-empowerment brand Rebel Girls that aims to showcase the importance of representation in various male-dominated communities and spaces, including the gaming industry. This event is set to launch on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 11am CT, and will debut a new line of Blueberry x Rebel Girls avatar clothes and accessories, along with a sneak peek of the newest Rebel Girls book, Rebel Girls Level Up, releasing June 27, 2023.
The clothing line features seven paid items (which will cost between 75 to 100 Robux) that will be displayed in the Blueberry Clothing Store experience, and in the Roblox Avatar Shop, and one free item that will be available to earn during the event. While the event is active, players will also have the opportunity to explore 11 different stories taken straight from the Rebel Girls Level Up book that showcase various real-life developers, designers, testers, streamers, etc., all of whom are women, and offer insight into how they found their passion for video games, and how they maneuvered through a world that seemed built against them.
As two women-founded and women-led brands, both House of Blueberry and Rebel Girls understand and prioritize the importance of nurturing and developing the confidence within girls at a young age to be their most authentic and unapologetic selves. Whether this means encouraging and allowing self expression through clothing and accessories, or creating and paving spaces, both literally and figuratively, in underrepresented fields and communities, the heads of these brands feel strongly and deeply about the future of the world's girls and women.
"Rebel Girls was an obvious collaboration for me because they represent everything we stand for as a company," said Ashley Hopkins, Chief Creative Officer at House of Blueberry. "As a company founded and run primarily by women who identify as Rebel Girls, we love their messaging. This activation is all about encouraging every girl to be her best Rebel self."
Though this is Rebel Girls' first time experiencing the Roblox Metaverse, the brand has hope that the partnership will succeed and that attendees will be positively impacted by their visit.
“We are ecstatic to partner with female-owned and led House of Blueberry for our first Roblox experience, to not only celebrate women in gaming, but the entire girl gamer community,” said Jes Wolfe, Rebel Girls CEO. “We hope that, like a lightning bolt, girls will be emboldened to light up the sky inside the House of Blueberry x Rebel Girls activation, and everywhere they go afterwards.”
As House of Blueberry continues to grow in popularity, and its authority on Roblox continues to expand and become stronger, more collabs and partnerships like this one will likely take place, which will continue to allow players of all backgrounds, genders, and identities, to find a home on the Roblox platform, and flourish in communities they might not have been able to picture themselves enjoying before.
