How to access your storage boxes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

No more Poke Center boxes!

A new box system is one of the biggest innovations that came with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Trainers used to have to head to a Poke Center to even place a Pokémon in a Box, of which there are usually only 20. Generation IX has a huge variety of Pokémon to collect, so trainers will definitely use their boxes early and often.

There is no longer any need to travel to a Poke Center to store Pokémon in boxes! In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, all trainers can access their boxes from the pause menu, regardless of wherever they are in the Paldea region. Here is how to access boxes:

  • Open the menu with the X button
  • Scroll down to Boxes
  • Select Pokémon and click on Move to place them in a Box

Trainers only get 8 Boxes to start their journey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There is also a battle team function, however. This is a set of six Pokémon that trainers can preset to use for a certain battle. For example, a trainer might have a powerful team they want to use for battles but actually spend most of their time catching other Pokémon. Now, they can simply click a button instead of replacing each individual Pokémon with their strong team when they need to face a tough Gym battle.
