Flygon is one of a couple Dragon-types to make a comeback in The Indigo Disk in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (Altaria being the other). Despite being power crept hard, Flygon still has great Speed, great Attack, and access to Dragon Dance. With a good nature, Flygon can easily carry a team.
What are the best natures for Trapinch, Vibrava and Flygon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Although physical attacker is the route you will probably want to take Flygon down, it also gets a decent base Special Attack stat (80). This gives it a fair bit of flexibility. These are the best natures for Flygon:
- Jolly (+Speed, -Sp Atk)
- Timid (+Speed, -Atk)
- Naive (+Speed, -Sp Def)
You may notice that all of these natures boost Speed, and that's for a reason. Flygon usually runs Choice Scarf or Dragon Dance sets, so it needs all the Speed it can get to start off a sweep. The most common nature for Flygon would be Jolly, which is seen on Dragon Dance Flygon and physical Choice Scarf Flygon.
Timid is the riskier option because it's used on Special Attacking Flygon. While 80 isn't the biggest base Special Attack stat, Flygon learns a ton of great special moves (Draco Meteor, Flamethrower, Earth Power, etc.). This makes Choice Scarf or Life Orb Flygon a pretty threatening option with Special Attacks.

Naive is used on a mixed set, which Flygon can run with great effect. This is because there are some hard checks to physical Flygon. Skarmory, for example, can take most of Flygon's attacks. The Flygon could run Fire Blast just to take care of Skarmory, though. Don't do this for Corviknight; in my experience, Corviknight just Roosts that damage up before laughing in my face.
How to choose the best nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
When deciding a nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you always want to think of the role the Pokémon is playing. This is usually dependent on the Pokémon it will likely face. Special Attacking Flygon might work in some instances, but not if it's going to face special walls like Clodsire and Blissey.
