How to counter Garganacl in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Garganacl is a beast of a Pokémon, having incredible HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense. Especially with its Purifying Salt ability and signature move, Salt Cure deals additional damage against Steel and Water-type Pokémon. This means that two types super effective against Garganacl are risky choices, especially considering it can likely tank one hit.
For that reason, we recommend using a strong Grass, Ground, or Fighting-type Pokémon, preferably one that focuses on Special Attack, as this will do more damage than physical attacks. Arboliva, Meowscarada, Great Tusk, Iron Hands, and Sandy Shocks are all great choices against Garganacl. Just be careful, as it can learn Ice Punch and Zen Headbutt as coverage moves.
