The release of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet hit us when some of their favorite monsters were missing from the game's Pokedex. Starting in Fall 2023, however, new Pokémon from previous games will be added through both waves of the DLC. On top of that, there are a couple of new Paradox forms and potential legendries to keep an eye out for as well.
All Old Pokémon returning in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC
Wave 1: The Teal Mask
- Chingling: Psychic-type from Generation IV. Chingling is a baby Pokémon that evolves into Chimeco via friendship, but only at night.
- Shiftree: This Dark and Grass-type hails from the Hoenn region. Shiftree gets the Chlorophyll ability, doubling its Speed under intense sunlight.
- Milotic: A special Water-type found in Hoenn. It evolves from Feebas, which can only be fished for in certain parts of Route 119.
- Yanma: A Bug and Flying Pokémon from Johto. It received an evolution in Generation IV called Yanmega.
- Vikavolt: The only Bug and Electric-type in the game. Vikavolt can dodge Ground-type attacks with the Levitate ability.
- Ninetails: A classic Fire-type from the Kanto region, Ninetails also received an Ice-type form with its Alolan regional variant.

Wave 2: The Indigo Disk
- Alcremie: A Fairy-type from the Galar region, Alcremie has different forms depending on the decorations found on the Pokémon.
- Zebstrika: This is an Electric-type from Unova with lots of Speed and hard-hitting moves.
- Whimsicott: Another Unovan Pokémon, this Grass, and Fairy-type gets the Prankster ability, allowing non-attacking moves to go first.
- Metagross: As one of the most fearsome Pokémon from the Hoenn region, Metagross was even found on Steven's Champion tea.
- Dewgong: This is a Water and Ice Pokémon from the Kanto region, found on Lorelai's Elite Four team.
- Espurr: A Generation VI Psychic-type which evolves into Meowstic, another Pokémon with the Prankster ability.
New Legendaries
The first wave of DLC, The Teal Mask, will center around the new legendary Ogerpon. This Pokémon can be seen dawning a mask and looks to be some sort of Grass-type. The second wave of DLC, called The Indigo Disk, will also feature a new legendary in the form of Terapagos. While it seems like it will be some sort of Water type, icons of every Pokémon type can be seen on its shell.
