One Piece is one of the most popular animes and mangas and has been ongoing since 1997. With a handful of video games, fans are always eager for another and will be able to enjoy a new story in the One Piece world with One Piece Odyssey. However, this leaves the question of whether One Piece Odyssey is considered canon to the series.
Is One Piece Odyssey canon to the manga/anime series?
The answer is no. One Piece Odyssey is not canon to the manga/anime of One Piece. It features familiar characters of the Straw Hat Pirates and is being developed with the help of Eichiro Oda, the author of One Piece. Despite this, the events in One Piece Odyssey are not canon to the rest of the series.
Fans can expect to see and control Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Nico Robin, Tony Tony Chopper, Franky, and Brook. One Piece Odyssey is a JRPG based on the One Piece universe, with the party consisting of the Straw Hat Pirates, each having their role in battle and unique exploration abilities.
While One Piece Odyssey is not canon, it is rooted and based on the canon, meaning fans will likely still enjoy the title. It features a brand new adventure with the Straw Hat crew, who have crashed on a mysterious island. One thing to note is that there may be some spoilers for those who have not met all the members of the crew up to the point of those included in the game.
