New World is Amazon Games' first project and had an incredible launch regarding its player base. Since launch, the player base has dropped off, and this could be due to the increasing number of exploits and bugs being discovered in the game. Unfortunately, another exploit was found that allowed players to duplicate their gold, becoming increasingly rich.
Players logging in recently may think a new bug has occurred that prevents trading. But this is not a bug but rather a direct action against the gold duplication exploit. Amazon Games released a statement assuring players that they are looking into the exploit and have disabled "all forms of wealth transfer between players."

This means that players cannot exchange currency with other players or trade until Amazon Games restores the service. They have been posting updates as they attempt to iron out the gold duplication exploit and warning any player who uses this exploit will have actions taken against them, most likely a ban.
MMORPG New World cannot seem to catch a break as this is only one of many exploits and bugs found. Things like these are common with new games, and hopefully, Amazon Games will get this issue fixed quickly and restore trading to New World.
