Folks like me don't want to keep changing worlds to find the best seeds in Minecraft—you want it now while the inspiration for playing is still fresh! I've gathered 15 of the most exciting seeds we've ever found in 1.20 to help you start a new, exhilarating world quickly on any platform.

Best Minecraft 1.20 Seeds on all platforms

Each of these Minecraft 1.20 seeds can be used for either Bedrock or Java editions. The biomes and general geography will stay the same, but the structures may change. This is reflected in the coordinate tables provided for each seed, which show identical geographic coordinates but different structural coordinates.

15 - Picturesque Scenery

Of all of the seeds I've explored in Minecraft, this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. I spawned in a lush and vibrant Bamboo Jungle surrounded by multiple mountains. One of the mountains is very stony with a small icy patch, while the other is taller with more snow. There is also a sprawling Birch Forest next to the Jungle as well as a Lush Cave only a short distance away. If you try this seed out for yourself, you'll never want to leave!

14 - Cherry Village Hill

This Cherry Grove hill seems as if it was made specifically for the Plains Village on top of it. It contains multiple levels of dirt platforms that the villagers built their homes and farms on, plus a cave toward the bottom to get some easy ores. As a special touch to this already unique seed, the lone cherry tree to the right of the village makes up its own tiny Cherry Grove biome.

13 - Garden Beneath the Overworld

This is one of the most beautiful Lush Caves that can be found in Minecraft currently. It's multilayer, extending all the way down to Deepslate, and filled with layers of clay-lined water pools and waterfalls. The cave's entrance has plenty of trees that can easily be used to gather wood and saplings to use in developing the cave. Since it is open to the Overworld as well, you'll be able to grow crops and get a lot of sunlight easily.

12 - Fragmented Peninsula

While Spawn appears to be on a small Desert Island near the shore, it is actually on a peninsula that remains connected to the mainland beneath the sea. A gorgeous Coral Reef surrounds it, littered with shipwrecks, ruins, and other treasures. Java players will be able to find a rare diamond fossil on this seed, while Bedrock players will have a nearby cluster of Large Warm Ocean ruins instead. As a bonus, a Lush Cave hides beneath the peninsula! Arm yourself with brushes, shovels, and pickaxes to explore this seed to its fullest potential.

11 - Sniffer's Ocean Home

You'll never have to worry about hunting for Sniffer Eggs in this seed! Despite its size, the small Warm Oceans next to your Badlands spawn is jam-packed with Warm Ocean Ruins in both versions. With so many ruins to explore, it seems impossible to not be able to get at least one egg. The location is perfect because after gathering the eggs, you can choose whether to return to the Badlands side of the Warm Ocean or travel to the more grassy, forested biomes on the other side.

10 - River Valley Island

The world starts in the middle of a Plains valley. The land you spawn on is isolated from the rest of the valley by a circular river, while Cherry Grove hills loom above you on three sides. A Plains Village can be seen on one of these hills. This seed is perfect for creating a castle or town surrounded by a moat. Plus, the close proximity of the villagers means it will be very easy to move them into your town.

9 - Treacherous Desert

Spawn is set between Badlands and Desert biomes. This provides a very mountainous landscape that forces the player to venture further in order to find resources and treasures. In Java, the star of the show is a Desert Village that balances atop of one of the first hills you come across. Players must traverse the dangerous dunes and make their way up to the village in order to acquire materials and meet merchants. This village does not exist in Bedrock—however, there are villages deeper within the desert that make up for this.

8 - Trail Ruins to Lush Cave

This seed starts you off in an Old Growth Spruce Taiga biome. To the east is the ocean, while the west leads you to Old Growth Pine and Dark Forest biomes. Both Bedrock and Java versions of this seed have a large Trail Ruins archeology site that can be excavated and then used to dig into the area's Lush Cave. In Java, a mineshaft is connected to the cave itself, allowing players to gather even more potential treasure.

7 - Cherry Grove Beginnings

Spawn in this seed is set within a Cherry Grove biome, with a Plains biome in the west and colder biome residing in the east. In Java, this mountain contains two Pillager Outposts as well as an Ancient City. In Bedrock, the mountain is home to only one Pillager Outpost, but it contains one Ancient City beneath it as well as another on the outskirts of the Cherry Grove biome!

6 - Caved In Mansion with Village

A multi-structure point of interest is always exciting to see in Minecraft. This is why we chose this seed, which features a Plains Village, a Woodland Mansion, and a ruined portal all inside a sprawling Dripstone Cave! Apart from this crazy clash of structures, this seed features multi-biome forests surrounding it on all sides, which makes exploration above ground worthwhile when you wish to venture out of the caves.

5 - Beautiful Multi-Biome Cliffside

This incredible Bedrock seed spawns you right on a cliffside of a vast cove, looking straight at the ocean. The terrain is covered with a Jungle biome and goes into a polar area covered with frozen waterfalls. The cove is split right in the middle with volcanic magma falls, making this seed even more unique. Plenty of building and exploring opportunities are possible. I particularly fancy the idea of building a floating city right in the middle of the cove.

4 - The Jungle Oasis

Spawning in this seed feels like stumbling across an oasis while traversing an arid desert, hence the name. Once you load into this seed, you will find yourself in a large patch of Jungle biome in the middle of a vast desert along with a beautiful river flowing right through the middle. It features lots of villages, desert wells, and a cave system right below the surface. The jungle even has a lava pool on the surface where you can build your Nether portal!

3 - Biodiversity

Seed: 79067

We considered this seed to be the pinnacle of world generation since the 1.18 update. Even after the overhaul of the game's world generation, it continues to have nearly every biome and cluster of almost every overworld structure within a couple of thousand blocks of spawn. Additionally, it has a 1,000-block row of several Ancient Cities just south of Spawn as well as a couple of small patches of a Mangrove Swamp biome nearby.

2 - Badlands Lake

This seed spawns you right by the edges of a giant lake surrounded by high-rising plateaus of Wooded Badlands, hence the name. However, this seed has much more to offer than a beautiful view. A few blocks away from Spawn, you will find a Desert Village with multiple towers and a Savanna Village on an adjacent mountain. If the surface isn't enough, dig down to find Lush Caves, Deep Dark biomes, and plenty of ores to mine for resources.

1 - Exposed lush cave

You will have to travel over 2,000 blocks to reach it, but once you do, it will be worth it because a lush open cave on this map will leave you breathless as it did to me! A wonderful hidden cave in the middle of a bamboo forest captivates with its beauty, thanks to its plunging waterfall and hanging foliage. It's the perfect hideout base or a pirate cove just waiting to be constructed by you!
