Mob heads are a great addition to Minecraft, especially as decoration to various dungeons or structures. It creates an amazing atmosphere with the detailing.
There are some limitations when it comes to survival mode in Minecraft. You can obtain only a couple of mob heads in the game, these being:
- Creeper mob head
- Zombie mob head
- Ender Dragon mob head
- Wither Skeleton mob head
- Skeleton mob head

Every Wither Skeleton has a small chance of dropping its head, as it is an ingredient of spawning a Wither. All you need to do is slay the monster and count on your own luck. You can make it more effective by using a sword with Looting III enchantment.
You can obtain the head of an Ender Dragon only once in your Minecraft survival world. After you defeat the Ender Dragon and explore The End, you can find the Ender Dragon mob head at the front of the ender ship.
Other mob heads: creeper, zombie, and a skeleton can also be obtained multiple times. All you need to do is get a charged creeper and make it kill a specific mob with a charged explosion.
Remember, you cannot obtain player heads in survival mode.
