Minecraft 1.17 introduced the Caves & Cliffs Update and brought us dozens of exciting new mechanics, blocks, and mobs. Naturally, this got me looking for the best 1.17 seeds so I could enjoy this update to its full potential. In our list below, we have provided the best seeds for version 1.17 in both Bedrock and Java Editions of Minecraft!

15 - Savannah Swamp

This seed spawns you in a small Windswept Forest biome near a Savannah Village and a Swamp. The Swamp contains a witch hut, as well as a ruined portal located above a mineshaft. In addition to these resources, the area has plenty of biome diversity—the west contains a Desert biome, while the east contains Windswept Hills, Dark Forest, and Old Growth Birch Forest biomes.

14 - Desert Oasis Village

This seed spawns you at the edge of a river marking the divide between the Plains oasis within a Desert biome. On the other side of the river is a ruined portal, which can quickly be looted before heading to the nearby Desert Village. Heading south of the village leads to the ocean, as well as buried treasure and shipwrecks.

13 - Ravine Spawn and Separated Villages

Spawn is set on the left edge of a thin ravine, with pumpkins and other resources located nearby. Crossing the ravine and heading northeast will lead you to a Taiga Village; crossing the mountain in front of it will lead you to a second one. The mountain itself also contains a mineshaft, making the area perfect for gathering resources and starting a base!

12 - Village on a Ravine

This seed will spawn you right next to a Plains Village sitting on the border between a Plains biome and a Desert biome. To make things even more interesting, I found two houses that appear to be built right on top of the maw of the ravine. Villagers don't seem concerned by the danger as they go about their business, maintaining the crop fields and tending to animals.

11 - Port Village

This incredible seed spawns you right next to a coastal Plains Village with a port and a docked ship next to it. You can use this seed in Minecraft version 1.16 as well to get an even better ship placement! Be sure to check out the nearby cove with a ravine inside it—maybe you'll find a pirate's treasure!

10 - Mushroom Mesa

Right at the spawn of this seed is a Mushroom Biome and a massive Mesa Biome squished together. Starting next to these biomes is rare enough, but there are many more reasons to make this seed your next 1.17 home. More rare biomes are a short distance from spawn, like the incredible Eroded Badlands variant and the Frozen Ocean Biome. Within the Frozen Ocean biome is a shipwreck, plus there is another shipwreck inside a Savannah Village near Spawn!

9 - The Earth Temple

This seed spawns you right next to a Jungle Temple, one of the game's rarest structures. Near the spawn point is a large cliff overlooking a lake, a perfect spot to build a home. There is also a Mesa Biome a short distance away from Spawn and a village that spawns right on the border between the Jungle Biome and the Mesa Biome. All things considered, this is a perfect spawn for newcomers to the game who are fond of Jungles.

8 - The Fire Temple

This seed spawns you right next to a Desert Temple. Desert Temples are not particularly rare, but what makes this one great is the fact that it spawns with an Enchanted Golden Apple in one of the chests! Near the spawn, you will find other helpful structures for starting off a new Minecraft world, such as an Ocean Monument, a Desert Village, and a ruined portal. From the spawn area, you can see a miniature Frozen Ocean Biome in the distance, which provides a pleasant aesthetic if you're fond of Ice Hills.

7 - The Water Temple

Not many players like to spawn on a Desert Island because of the lack of resources, but this seed is worth a shot for players who want to test their Minecraft survival skills. There are two Ocean Monuments a short distance from the massive desert island you spawn on. There is also a ruined portal near one of the Ocean Monuments. Last, an interesting fishing village spans out into the water on the island.

6 - The Prestigious Village

The villagers you spawn next to in this seed have set out to take over the Woodland Mansion to which their Plains Village is connected. This seed provides you a chance to gear up and claim a Woodland Mansion right at the start, which would serve as an excellent resource for housing and home defense. The only difficulty is defeating the Illagers inside! Still, if you're looking to get into the heart of the action of Minecraft, this is a perfect starting seed.

5 - Jungletown

This simple Bedrock seed spawns you next to a Jungle Temple and a Plains Village. You don't have to travel far to reach a multitude of biomes for access to most of the game's resources necessary for a survival world. This seed has nothing immediately extravagant about it, but we wanted to include it since it's a perfect start for new or casual players fond of the Jungle biome.

4 - Blood Amethyst

When you spawn, this seed places you near a Desert Village, Desert Temple, Pillager Outpost, and a Woodland Mansion. The village spawns by a small ravine that leads down to an amethyst geode structure added to Minecraft with the Caves & Cliffs update. The Pillager Outpost and Desert Temple are right next to each other in the middle of the path between the Desert Village and Woodland Mansion. This seed is perfect for players who like to make stories from their Survival World. Is there a war happening here? Does the amethyst below the village have something to do with it?

3 - Clean Amethyst

This seed is a beautiful example of how exciting and fun the world generation mechanics can be for Minecraft 1.17. If you're willing to make a long trip in this seed, you will find an Ocean Monument with an amethyst geode generated right on top. There is a wide variety of biomes nearby plus another amethyst geode by itself. This adds a degree of difficulty to getting Amethyst in the game and, by extension, a heightened sense of accomplishment when you get it!

This is one of the most exciting seeds we have on this list! It is unique because the seed spawns you near a village between several rare Biomes. You can tell the villagers here picked this spot because it has immediate access to several Biome types and their respective resources. To top it all off, another Village is located a short distance away, and has three blacksmiths!

1 - A Town of Pirates

Version: Bedrock

This interesting seed spawns players near a Plains/Desert Village a short distance from a fully intact shipwreck. Players can consider themselves one of the "Pirate Villagers" who helped establish this town after the wreck or use it as an excellent trade and treasure source. However, even outside of making a story around it, this is a great seed with a solid foundation for players to get their survival world started.
