Every Music Disc in Minecraft

As of 1.20, there are 16 Music Discs available in Minecraft. Their primary use is to be placed within jukeboxes to play the sound they contain. However, they can also be used to adjust a redstone comparator's signal if it is placed behind a jukebox containing a Music Disc.

13

  • Redstone Output Power: 1
  • Length: 2 minutes 58 seconds

This disc is somewhat eerie, containing metallic sounds reminiscent of bells and ambient sounds similar to the game's cave music. The bells are mostly present in the beginning, with the latter part of the disc containing sounds of water droplets, gusts of wind, bows firing, and a hiss followed by an explosion and a splash. There is some silence between the two sections of the track as well as reverb, which potentially comes from the echoes within the cave in the disc.

Cat

  • Redstone Output Power: 2
  • Length: 3 minutes 5 seconds

Cat is probably my favorite soundtrack of the bunch. It's light and bubbly, with the melody from the beginning playing throughout the entire disc. As the disc plays through, new sounds are continuously added. These sounds include percussion to match the beat and additional harmonies that change the song into a slightly different aesthetic. The song feels like traveling around a safe place in a video game, like a home village or a fountain of healing.

Blocks

  • Redstone Output Power: 3
  • Length: 5 minutes 45 seconds

Blocks is an upbeat track reminiscent of an 8-bit game. The beat is very bouncy, especially as more sounds are generated in the track. Every six beats, the track's pitch either increases or decreases slightly. It makes the track sound consistent without being too repetitive.

Chirp

Chirp has a retro, Bossa-Nova type of vibe. It reminds me of an old-school carnival, but it's really something you'll have to listen to for yourself.

Far

  • Redstone Output Power: 5
  • Length: 2 minutes 54 seconds

Far is a calming track that sounds like someone is playing an angelic, synthetic xylophone. It has lots of echoes, as each melody within the song repeats itself a few times with similar lower notes played beneath it. It evokes feelings of being in a star-filled sky.

Mall

  • Redstone Output Power: 6

Mall is another very relaxing track. It starts off on a lower pitch, but progressively gets higher and louder. Contrast is added by the inclusion of a faster melody beneath the original slower one.

Mellohi

  • ID: music_disc_mellohi
  • Redstone Output Power: 7
  • Length: 1 minute 36 seconds

The Mellohi track is like a darker version of a waltz. It keeps a consistent one, one-two beat as the base, later adding in a gloomy note that plays for one second straight, then takes a short pause before playing for another second. It's as if a melancholic violinist has joined the original musician in creating a rich, downbeat piece.

Stal

Stal is the jazz piece of the bunch. It starts off with a little percussion and a deep double bass strumming casually. A saxophone is added next, with a piano following soon after.

Strad

  • ID: music_disc_strad
  • Redstone Output Power: 9
  • Length: 3 minutes 8 seconds

Strad is soft but still sounds like it was made on a tropical island getaway. The main melody has a lot of upbeat notes that are slightly metallic and poppy. Layers of other instruments are added in, including a low-pitched percussion that keeps the beat and contrasts the higher-pitched notes.

Ward

  • ID: music_disc_ward
  • Redstone Output Power: 10
  • Length: 4 minutes 11 seconds

Ward starts off with a low-pitched melody that sounds like it was played on an electronic version of an organ. Six seconds in, the organ cuts off mid-note, and the sound crackles as if the connection was disrupted. The track then swaps to a synthetic melody that is both upbeat and dark. It is the kind of song you would find in the background of a dungeon crawler.

11

  • ID: music_disc_11
  • Redstone Output Power: 11
  • Length: 1 minute 11 seconds

11 goes hand in hand with the previous 13 tracks. It starts off with crackling static before cutting to the sounds of heavy breathing and running on stone blocks.

Ominous cave sounds can be heard in the background. There are a few metallic clicks like lighting a lighter, then coughing, more steps, and the pages of a book turning. The background gets louder, like something is coming towards the recorder. The breathing gets faster as the stone blocks are broken faster. The sound of dirt blocks breaking is disrupted by a distorted noise. All that remains at the end is static and a few small sounds as the recording ends.

Pigstep is an intense, dubstep-style beat. It's loud, with lots of overlayed melodies and a bass drop before the melody changes up and gets a little louder. An instrument like a synthetic piano is added 46 seconds in.

Otherside

  • Length: 3 minutes 15 seconds

The start of Otherside sounds upbeat and 8-bit, just like several of the other tracks. At the 1 minute and 46 second mark, the tune changes keys and progressively becomes a darker melody. At the end, the sound of a clock ticking can be heard before the track suddenly ends.

  • Length: 3 minutes 38 seconds

Relic starts off as static, transitioning into an upbeat, 8-bit-style tune. Within the track, melodies from two Minecraft Legends songs can be heard in the same style as the original tune. Bass is added to the track around the 1 minute and 15 second mark.

5

  • ID: music_disc_5
  • Redstone Output Power: 15
  • Length: 2 minutes 58 seconds

5 is the last music disc telling a story rather than playing music. It begins with static and the sound of teleporting. Flint and steel can be hard, followed by a bat and walking. The walking starts normal but becomes heavy and metallic-sounding as if an army is marching off to war. Breathing can be heard, then a roar, which turns into a relaxing melody. The melody cuts out into the sound of lava and the shrieking of sculk sensors.

There is coughing, metallic sounds, and the sound of teleporting. Footsteps on deepslate can be heard. Unidentifiable noises are heard in the background and only continue to get louder as the footsteps continue. As they quiet down, footsteps begin much more quietly. A sculk sensor goes off, and the scream of a Warden is heard.

How to Find 5
Can be crafted after obtaining 9 disc fragments from Ancient City chests.
