The biggest addition is the return of Nick Fury, the original director of SHIELD, who mysteriously disappeared since the events of the beginning of the game. An upcoming patch will have Nick Fury return to "coordinate future Avengers Initiative missions alongside Director Hill." He will return as part of the Avenger's patch 2.3 update, which is scheduled to release in March.

The developers also plan to reword the War Table to make it more inviting for new players in the patch. The developers plan to change how missions are found, selected, and launched on the War Table. The patch will also have players earn Gear Sets in "a wider set of activities," and weekly rewards will be extended to the Mega Hives.

Though not revealed in the development update, Crystal Dynamics revealed that Thor will be getting a new costume. The new outfit is based on the character's appearance in the movie Thor Ragnarok and will be available in the Marketplace on Feb. 17.
