The best DeathWave deck in Marvel Snap

Bring Death to opponents with a tidal Wave of Power.

Though overall Marvel Snap's Destroy decks have been pretty lackluster since the official release of the game, one Destroy deck in particular has been a top meta menace for most of the game's life cycle, and has only grown in strength over time. That deck is the DeathWave deck, an archetype that focuses on early-game Destroy synergies into a final turn hand-dump that puts a ridiculous amount of strength onto the board. Below you'll find the best DeathWave deck list in the meta as well as an explanation on piloting it.

As for piloting the deck, the strategy is quite simple. In the early game, you want to be playing out your low-cost Destroy outlets like Squirrel Girl and Bucky Barnes in order to utilize Carnage, Deathlok, and Killmonger. This will lead to your board becoming gradually stronger while making your Death cheaper.

Yondu is similar in this regard, but he is also great for potentially disrupting your opponent's strategy by Destroying a key card in their deck. Also, though Yondu's effect says it removes a card from their deck, his effect still counts as a trigger towards Death's cost reduction.

Shang-Chi serves as the deck's main source of disruption. The card is typically very strong in most metas, but especially in this one with Shuri and Darkhawk decks all over the place, making him one of the top disruption cards in the game.

Wave is the most important card in the deck by far, as this card enables all of the deck's final turn combos. The deck's bread-and-butter win condition is playing out Wave on Turn 5 to make Death even cheaper while usually limiting opponents to playing out a single card on Turn 6. Then, the play is Death alongside another powerful card to close out the game.

As stated previously, this strategy has only grown stronger over time, especially with the release of She-Hulk. This card also benefits from a Turn 5 wave, as with its own cost reduction effect you can play out Death, She-Hulk, and another card to blow your opponent out of the game.

Magneto and Aero are perhaps the most interesting inclusions, but also two of the strongest. The ability of these cards to move the opponent's plays all around the board offers the DeathWave archetype a serious amount of flexibility and makes the final turn much more unpredictable. This leads to this version of the DeathWave deck having a much higher skill ceiling, but also leads to it taking many more Snap Cubes from opponents.
