How to improve stability in Ixion

Resolve the issues of your people!

One of the core objectives of Ixion is to maintain stability in each of the active sectors. To achieve this, you will need to solve various problems in each sector, ranging from a lack of medical amenities like an Infirmary to an inadequate amount of housing. So, if you are new to Ixion and want to remove the annoying sad face emoji icon that represents instability on the bottom of the screen, follow the given instruction.

Before solving the issues of any sector, you must understand the root cause of the problem. The best way to study the issues affecting a particular area is to click the emoji icon below the sector name on the bottom left of the screen.

For example, you can clearly understand from the above image that there is a -3 decrease in stability due to homelessness in Sector 3. To improve the situation, you need to build housing.

Common instability issues in Ixion

Homeless - House Icon(Red)

The red house symbol means that those in that sector need more housing. Hover over the icon to know the exact number of required buildings. Construct more Crew Quarters from the Population tab to solve the issue. After building, the icon will go away.

Food - Fork and Knife Icon(Red)

The red fork and knife symbol implies that the people in that sector are starving due to less food provision. Increase food production by creating more insect or crab farms from the Population tab.

Working Conditions - Helmet Icon(Red)

The red helmet signifies fewer workers in the sector and needs a more working population. To resolve this, you can either hatch a lot of Cryogenic beds from the Population tab or send workers from the adjacent sector to the required one.

Health - Plus Icon(Yellow)

The plus sign indicates that the sector lacks basic health amenities. You can remove the symbol and improve stability by building more Dispensary from the Population tab.

Remember, these are some temporary problems, and their solutions may affect most of the player base. It's always best to read the stability chart repeatedly to understand other uncommon problems affecting you.

How to improve stability permanently in Ixion?

Apart from improving the stability factor temporarily, you can also increase it permanently in any sector by constructing perk-based buildings like Memorials from the tech tree. You can find the list of all such buildings below.

  • Alternative Life Center: Increases stability always by +1(for that sector).
  • Memorials: Increases stability permanently by +1(for that sector).
  • Legislative Strengthening Center: Increases stability permanently by +2(for that sector)

Remember, you can only construct one iteration of these buildings per sector. For example, Sector 1 can have only one Memorial and an Alternative Life Center.

What happens if you don't maintain stability in Ixion?

If you don't focus on removing the stability icon from time to time, your overall trust factor with your people will reduce, leading to unnecessary strikes.
