With the new patch coming for Trailblazers in Honkai: Star Rail, players are going to have plenty of new characters to pull for. Both Blade and Kafka have their merits, and if anyone is rolling in the Stellar Jade they could just pull on both banners. As for the rest of the player base, though, they might want to save their resources for one particular banner.
Blade Banner VS Kafka Banner in Honkai: Star Rail
While whales can pull on whichever banner they like, free to play Honkai: Star Rail players should specifically focus on the Kafka banner. This is mostly because the four star pool in Kafka's banner has more exclusive characters than the one's on Blade's banner.
For reference, the four stars that players can pull on Blade's banner are as follows:
- Arlan
- Natasha
- Sushang
The issue with throwing Stellar Jade at this banner is that one of these characters everybody gets for free (Natasha) and another of them is a common four star pull from older banners (Arlan). I myself have several copies of Arlan sitting on my account, and yes, they are all riding the bench.

While Sushang is a great character to pull, she is also available in the Standard Warp pull. Therefore, all of these characters can be acquired through other means.
On the other hand, here are the four star characters available on Kafka's banner:
- Luka
- Sampo
- Serval
Of these three, Luka is a completely new character. Sampo is also a rare character that does not appear on banners too often. Although Serval has high availability, two of the three characters in this banner are likely not on anyone's account just yet.
For free to play players, getting the most value out of their Stellar Jade should be a top priority. While it would certainly be great to grab that five star, players should face the reality that they are mostly likely just coming away with the four stars on the banner. Blade will certainly be very popular due to his playstyle and backstory, but players who are looking for the most value might just want to save their Stellar Jade for Kafka.
