Honkai Star Rail Best Kafka Build – Light Cones, Relics, & More!

Mommy is here.

Forget Jing Yuan, Kafka is arguably the better five-star Lighting unit Honkai: Star Rail has now. So, if you’re lucky enough to pull for her, congratulations! As a DoT blaster (yes, it’s a fake word), a good Kafka build requires a lot of substat balancing and resources. Here’s my recommended setup.

Best Light Cones for Kafka in Honkai Star Rail

Below are all the best Light Cones for Kafka in Honkai: Star Rail:

  • Patience Is All You Need (5*): Increases DMG dealt by Kafka by 24% (base).  After every attack unleashed, her SPD increased by 4.8%, stacking up to three times.
    • If she hits an enemy target that is not afflicted by Erode, she inflicts the status. Enemies afflicted with Erode are also considered to be Shocked and will receive Lightning DoT at the start of each turn equal to 60% of the wearer's ATK.
  • Good Night and Sleep Well (4*): For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by Kafka increases by stacking up to three times. This effect also applies to DoT. Shock stacks as separate debuffs, unlike Wind Shear, so this is a super good Light Cone on her.

While I don’t think there’s a player out there who hasn’t pulled at least one copy of Good Night and Sleep Well by accident on the standard banner, a good temporary “free” (to play) Light Cone to give Kafka is Fermata from Forgotten Hall.

Best Relic Sets and Planar Ornaments for Kafka in Honkai Star Rail

For Relic Sets, you can go about it two ways:

  • A full Band of Sizzling Thunder set (preferred)
  • Half Band of Sizzling Thunder, Half Musketeer of Wild Wheat (for +10% ATK, +10% Lightning DMG)

I personally prefer the second kit on DoT characters, however, we want our Kafka to move so quickly that she’ll always be keeping that “increases the wearer's ATK by 20%” boon from a full Band of Sizzling Thunder set.

For Planar Ornaments, Inert Salsotto (which raises Crit Rate and follow up attack DMG) as well as Space Sealing Station (which raises ATK) are both good options. Just look at which stat your Kafka lacks.

Shock DoT scales with two stats: ATK and Lightning DMG. Remember that when you roll your stats. This is especially important for Kafka since most of her skills don’t really deal damage outright, but instead deal Shock and damage them with % that is dependent on ATK.

  • Body: ATK (preferred) or Crit DMG
  • Feet: SPD
  • Rope: ATK
  • Orb: Lightning DMG

Of course, as a DPS unit, be sure that Kafka has Crit Rate/Crit DMG on her as well—preferably on her substats. Plus, SPD is very important for her to have, so she can keep Shocking and triggering Shocks of your enemies.

Best Kafka Team Comps

Kakfa’s really good in any team, but especially those that lean on their Basic Attack to do the most damage, like Blade and Luka. After all, her follow-up attacks only trigger this way. If you have other Lightning units who inflict Shock often, like Serval, Kafka’s a good fit into that kind of team comp as well.
