A gaming keyboard and mouse aren’t really the first peripherals that come to mind when it comes to console gaming. However, with the increased curiosity in PC gaming and with more people looking for that keyboard and mouse experience on console, the next-gen consoles along with more developers are making the PC experience much more accessible. Although currently not every game for PlayStation supports keyboard and mouse input (and at the moment there are no PS5-only titles that support keyboard and mouse input, but there are PS4 titles that support it), there are some tricks and a few devices that you could use to trick your consoles into making it think that you’re using a controller.
With the PS5 featuring four total USB ports (one Superspeed USB-C port and one high-speed USB-A port in the front, and a pair of Superspeed USB-A ports in the back) there is plenty of space to connect your keyboard and mouse (or dongles for both) along with an external drive or a wireless headphone dongle. All of the keyboard and mouse combos listed below are compatible with the PlayStation 5 and all of them are solid additions to your PlayStation 5 setup.

Razer All-Star Gaming Bundle
(Razer Blackshark V2 X, Razer Viper, Razer Ornata V2 RGB, Razer Gigantus V2 XXL)
To get an entire setup for a console may seem a bit ridiculous, but when you can get some of the best peripherals in the market for an incredibly low price altogether, it almost seems like a no brainer.
The Razer All-Star Gaming Bundle comes with Razer’s incredibly beloved Blackshark V2 X headset, along with the Razer Viper mouse, the Razer Ornata V2 RGB keyboard, one of the top membrane keyboards out there, and the Gigantus V2 XXL mousepad which will cover just about any desktop setup. Considering you get all of this for about $180, which would be the total price of a top of the line keyboard and mouse together, this bundle is completely worth considering.
HyperX Alloy Origins 60/Pulsefire Raid
For those who don’t need an entire setup, don’t want to spend a lot of money and still want high-quality and high-performing products, the HyperX Alloy Origins 60 and the Pulsefire Raid mouse (or just about any mouse within the Pulsefire lineup for that matter) make for a perfect pair to match with your PlayStation 5.
Considering that you are only using the keyboard for gaming reasons, and rarely for anything typing related, the Origins 60 combines high performance with a small form factor, meaning that it won’t take up a lot of your desk space. The Origins 60 is one of the top 60 percent keyboards in the market and one of the top gaming keyboards overall, making it a great addition for the PS5. The Pulsefire Raid is one of the better budget FPS focus mice in the market, featuring 11 programmable buttons and a 16,000 DPI sensor, allowing for fast, fluid movement. While the Pulsefire Raid gets overshadowed by the more expensive likes of the Logitech G502 and G703 and the Razer Deathadder V2, it’s a very worthy pickup which will cost you half the price of any of the Logitech or Razer mice.
Razer Turret
Okay, so you don’t have a desk setup for your PlayStation 5. Instead, you keep it old school and have the PS5 connected to your 4K TV, but you want to see what this PC-like experience is all about. The Razer Turret is the best addition here. The Razer Turret is a lapboard which, as its name suggests, is meant to be used on your lap. It also features a pull-out magnetic mousepad that the Turret’s included Deathadder-like mouse works on.
The Turret board itself is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard that, along with the mouse, works wirelessly via a 2.4GHz dongle that should plug into the front of your PlayStation 5. The only downfall with the Turret is its steep, over-$200 price tag. However, at the high price, you get the PC experience on your couch with one of, if not the, best console-dedicated keyboard and mouse combo in the market.
Logitech G613 Lightspeed Wireless Mechanical Keyboard/G603 Lightspeed Mouse
Sticking with the wireless theme for a second, while the Logitech G613 isn’t a lapboard, its wireless capabilities can give it a lapboard experience, sort of. The only thing you would have to figure out is the mousepad for the G603 wireless mouse, which is actually easier more times than not. And, if we're being honest, this is a much cheaper alternative to the Razer Turret altogether, even if you have to buy a separate, small mousepad to keep next to you.
While both technically come as separate peripherals, when paired together they make for a perfect Logitech themed addition for the console. Both the G613 keyboard and G603 mouse connect wirelessly through both a 2.4 GHz wireless dongle and through Bluetooth. The dual connectivity of both the keyboard and mouse allow both devices to connect to the PS5 and other devices simultaneously. It may not seem like a big-selling type of feature, but it is a nice quality of life kind of thing that, if you want to use both the keyboard and the mouse on maybe a proper PC or even a tablet, you don’t have to worry about re-pairing the devices each and every time. The G613 runs on Logitech’s Romer-G mechanical switches while the G603 mouse features a 12,000 DPI sensor. Both also boast a one-millisecond report rate, giving almost immediate response time in-game.
Corsair K55/Corsair Harpoon
If there’s anything that the combo of Corsair’s K55 keyboard and Harpoon mouse proves, it's that you don’t need to spend over $100 to get a quality keyboard and mouse combo for the PS5. The K55 and Harpoon RGB mouse are both wired, making them more ideal for a desk-based setup, and while they may not be as strong as the combos mentioned above, you’d be hard-pressed to find a combo as good under $100.
The K55 is a membrane-based, full-sized keyboard that features RGB backlighting and a pretty solid, detachable wrist rest, something necessary for long gaming sessions. The Harpoon features six programmable buttons, RGB lighting in the logo, an 6,000 DPI sensor and weighs just 99 grams. While the Harpoon doesn’t necessarily fit in with the current trend of lightweight gaming mice, at a hair under 100 grams it’s both solid without being entirely heavy by mouse standards.
