How to turn off the car alarm in Phasmophobia

A guide on turning off the car alarm in Phasmophobia.

Being a Paranormal Investigator must be tricky, as when you're hunting ghosts, they're also hunting you. It's hard to watch your back if the thing hunting you is invisible most of the time, seems awfully unfair. Speaking of unfair, the ghosts in Phasmophobia like to play tricks on you, in an attempt to distract you from them for a few minutes. One such thing they like to do is turn on car alarms that will keep going unless you go and switch them off. Here's how to turn off the car alarms in Phasmophobia.

Car keys

Take note that this noisy feature doesn't occur on every map, only on the ones that have vehicles outside the building. Luckily, not every ghost can set off the car alarm! The ones that can, however, can do it from up to 2 meters away. You might think that a car alarm would just become annoying and that you can live with it, well there's more to it than that. How can you speak to the ghost if you can't hear it? How can you hear any noises like footsteps if you can't hear them? When your team hears the alarm going off, that should be your first priority.

Your first step is to locate the car keys. They are normally located near the property entrance, so look around for a bowl or perhaps a hanger. They'll rarely be located anywhere else. Once found, left-click on them to pick them up, then dash outside and stand next to the car. Locate the keys in your inventory and left-click on them to disable the alarm.

We aren't sure if Phasmophobia has a preferred location to be in, such as the driver's side door, but our advice is to stand as close to the car as possible.

Furthermore, if you are swift enough to find the keys and dart outside, the ghost might still be present, so quickly investigate the area, and you might succeed and nabbing some much-needed evidence! Though this has to be done within 10 seconds, or that ghost is long gone!
