What is the max level cap in God of War Ragnarök?

It's all about the numbers.

Like any good action RPG, God of War Ragnarök marries the two aspects beautifully. If we're going to play favorites, we all know it's about the numbers. Because having that high level and gear score is what makes those blows actually feel meaty. It makes all the difference between chipping away at an enemy's health and gouging away large swathes of it. So, just how big do the numbers get?

The actual level cap for Kratos in God of War Ragnarök is level nine. This, however, is very different when compared to the more determining factor of Kratos and Atreus' power, which is their Power Level. Much like the previous God of War, the various pieces of gear will have a score level of their own. Power Levels can be checked by going into the inventory and perusing the different armor pieces in your collection. There's also a handy feature that takes the guesswork out of what is the "best" set to equip. Players can press L3 to auto-equip the best gear for the following stats:

  • Strength
  • Defense
  • Runic
  • Vitality
  • Luck
  • Cooldown
