Genshin Impact Returning Curios World Quest guide

Return old relics to Idyia.

The Genshin Impact Secret Summer Paradise event runs from July 5, 2023, to August 16, 2023, allowing you to explore the Veluriyam Mirage for a limited time. In this exciting new area, you can complete quests and loot Chests that will disappear after the event period, so I highly recommend playing through this area when you have the time. One of the limited-time quests is called Returning Curios, where you can search for old relics left by people who once visited the Veluriyam Mirage.

How to unlock the Returning Curios World Quest in Genshin Impact

To unlock Returning Curios, you must first complete Secret Summer Paradise: Part III - Dreams and First Encounters!, which will close the story of the Veluriyam Mirage. Once that's done, you'll automatically get Returning Curios in your quest menu, which you can begin by speaking to Idyia in the Silver Bottle Courtyard.

Returning Curios involves looking for three Curios left by old guests of the Veluriyam Mirage. After accepting the quest from Idyia, follow the quest navigator to the exact spot marked above in the Silver Bottle Courtyard. Once there, you will find two dining tables. Sit in front of the table with a lantern to complete the objective. A Common Chest will spawn. You need to loot it to proceed with the quest.

Return the Idyia to report your progress, then follow the quest navigator to the Choo-Choo Cart east of the Silver Bottle Courtyard. Board the Choo-Choo Cart to enter a cave, where you'll find a Preprint puzzle.

Before starting, don't forget to push the box to the right—it should be positioned exactly as in the image above. Once that's done, interact with the Streaming Projector to enter the Preprint world. There are no puzzles inside. You can complete the Preprint by following a simple path: loot the Chest, then exit through the door.

Once you've completed the Preprint, continue onward to find that the path has been unblocked. Interact with the glowing spot to dig an Exquisite Chest, then loot it to complete this part of the objective. The quest can't proceed if you don't loot the Chest, so don't forget to do so.

Return to Idyia to report your progress. After that, she'll prompt you to complete a challenge to obtain the final Curio. Head to the quest location via the eastern Teleport Waypoint, then start by interacting with the Hydro Eidolon above the stairs.

The Hydro Eidolon will move around, and you must keep following it. Pay attention and don't lose track! After it stops moving, interact with it so that it returns to its designated post.

Once that's done, you need to convince the two remaining Hydro Eidolons to return to their posts as well. I highly recommend starting from the same Teleport Waypoint, then making your way to the western quest marker. You can get here using the Four-Leaf Sigils, pictured above.

On the floating island, you'll find a Bloatty Floatty. Interact with it and pop the three balloons using an archer to reveal the Hydro Eidolon. Interact with it to complete this segment.

From the second Hydro Eidolon's position, you can directly glide toward the last one on the bottom of the map. Otherwise, you can also start from the Teleport Waypoint and follow the navigator—it won't be hard to find. You'll find the Hydro Eidolon surrounded by fungi. Defeat the enemies, then interact with the Hydro Eidolon to complete this segment.

Once that's done, return to the area around the Teleport Waypoint, where the three Hydro Eidolons are gathered.

You need to follow all three Hydro Eidolons until you reach the destination in front of the "ferris wheel." It's important to make sure that all three Hydro Eidolons are always together. If one lags behind, you need to approach it to prompt it to continue moving.

The Hydro Eidolons will lead you to the top of the mountain in the Silver Bottle Courtyard, right in front of the makeshift ferris wheel. It should look like the above, with all three friends waiting for you. If one is missing, go back for it.

The ferris wheel won't stop moving, but you need to board it the same way you did in the Event Quest. Wait for the giant lilypad to appear, then step on top of it. Wait for it to take you upward, but pay attention to your surroundings. Make sure to face east.

As soon as you see the floating island pictured above (facing east of the mini-map), immediately use the Four-Leaf Sigils to land on top of it. Interact with the glowing spot to reveal a Luxurious Chest, which you need to loot to proceed with the quest. Once done, return to Idyia to report your progress.

Regardless of what you answer, Idyia will send you to the northwest of the Veluriyam Mirage, close to the Teleport Waypoint. There, you will find two glowing spots, both of which you need to interact with. One will grant you a Quest Item called the Mysterious Mora Pocketwatch, while the other will ask you to bury a treasure with Paimon. Interacting with it will complete the World Quest.

The Mysterious Mora Pocketwatch has no known use in any existing quest, but you can read it from the Quest Item section of your Inventory to learn more about its original owner.
