Mantling is a mechanic that Epic Games introduced in Fortnite. In the absence of building, mantling helped loopers gain ground by climbing onto ledges and roofs of buildings. Although you can build again in Fortnite, the mantling mechanic is still around. If you've been playing from the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, you might have had to complete the mantling boot camp. However, if you're new to the season, here's a quick rundown on mantling in Fortnite.
How to mantle in Fortnite
If you want to mantle in Fortnite, all you need to do is make your way to a small wall or a roof and press the jump button. Once you've jumped up, you will see a small yellow marker on the edge of the wall or the roof. If you press and hold the jump button, you will end up climbing the wall or the roof.
Before trying to mantle, make sure the surface you're trying to mantle onto is at an accessible height. You can always try sprinting before you jump and mantle as that will help you cover more ground. However, you can't really mantle up to ledges and roofs that are more than one story in height.
