Final Fantasy 16 Photo Mode Guide

Show your best side.

I won't lie; I didn't even know Final Fantasy XVI had a photo mode until someone mentioned it to me. And let me tell you, it's not easy to find. But find it I did, and naturally, I gave Torgal the photoshoot he deserves as the best boy. But there are other uses for photo mode, considering how great FFXVI looks. So follow along if you are looking to use photo mode in FFXVI.

How to use FFXVI Photo Mode

Photo mode is accessible through the pause menu but only on a specific tab. You'll have to go here and then press the touchpad to bring up this feature. That said, here is how to access photo mode in FFXVI.

The first time you start photo mode, you'll be greeted with a popup explaining it. You can bypass this and jump right in. I personally found the photo mode lacking compared to other games' photo modes, but you may feel differently. Here is what you can control in FFXVI's photo mode.

  • Camera
    • Roll
    • Field of View
    • Clive (Toggle)
  • Depth of Field
    • Depth of Field (Toggle)
    • Focal Distance
    • Blur

While the options may be limiting, they still allow you to pause the action and take screenshots of the in-game world. Considering how beautiful Valisthea is, I highly recommend taking a moment to capture some of your favorite moments and landscapes. With luck, Square Enix may patch in more options and features, expanding the photo mode. If photo mode isn't for you, check out the Arcade mode instead.
