The vast world of Elden Ring allows players to free roam anywhere, however, it is ideal to collect map fragments early on to unlock various areas of the map. The game starts with a blank map, and players need to acquire these fragments to piece together all the missing areas.
The East, Limgrave map fragment is located at Mistwood. It is a forest located far east from Agheel Lake North Site Of Grace. Players will find the map fragment on a pillar next to a giant bear. We recommend moving stealthily to avoid any attention from this giant creature as it can eliminate you with a single swing. For reference, players can follow the location marked in blue in the image below.

Acquire the map fragment without alerting the bears, and you will have unlocked the East, Limgrave on the map. Players can also locate West, Limgrave map fragment at Gatefront Ruins, ideally by avoiding combat and simply sneaking into the enemy territory. Once you have the first two pieces, start visiting the Sites Of Grace to save the game and progress to other areas.
As for the giant bear at Mistwood, players can always return to defeat it after considerably leveling up their character's attributes, learning magic, summoning creatures, and upgrading armaments. There are several other smaller bears around this area, so it is ideal to crouch walk while collecting the map fragment. Using your horse or pacing on foot will alert the enemies, and it's best to avoid that scenario during the early phases of the game.
