Spirits are powerful allies that can be summoned in Elden Ring using the Spirit Calling Bell. After getting the Spirit Calling Bell, you will unlock the ability to summon spirits using Spirit Ashes, a material found around the map.
How to Find the Spirit Calling Bell
To get the Spirit Calling Bell, you must first unlock the Spirit Steed mount. After that, travel to the Church of Elleh Site of Grace, which can be found north of the starting spot in the Stranded Graveyard. Once at the Church of Elleh, go east until you get to the Gatefront Ruins Sites of Grace.
Once discovered, fast travel to one of the Sites of Grace at the Gatefront Ruins. You should be greeted by Melina, who will ask you to summon your horse. Once done, you can rest at the Site of Grace. You should be greeted by Renna the Witch when you wake up, who will offer you the Spirit Calling Bell.

How to Summon Different Spirits
Now that you have the Spirit Calling Bell, you can equip different Spirit Ashes into a quickslot. When used, these can be used like any other item and will call a Spirit. You can only have one type of Spirit at a time, but some Spirits summon more than one ally. There are over 20 different Spirits that you can summon, so it can be a good idea to experiment with different ones to find ones that work with your playstyle.
Spirit summons do usually cost FP, so keep an eye on your meter if you use other spells and skills. Having the ability to summon Spirits makes combat much easier in many situations, so it is good to get the Spirit Calling Bell early on.
