How to get rid of Scarlet Rot in Elden Ring

Cave diving, anyone?

There are many deadly status effects that you want to avoid at all costs in Elden Ring, but once you travel east of Limgrave and into the red lands of Caelid, you will begin to find enemies that will inflict a devastating status effect called Scarlet Rot.

To cure this deadly rot, you'll need to find a consumable item called Preserving Boluses. As of right now, we haven't found a spot to purchase any of these, but we have found a reliable way to craft them.

First, you'll need the Armorer's Cookbook [6]—to find it, you'll have to travel to the Siofra River Well, which can be found in the shadow of a Minor Erdtree in East Limgrave (map location below).

Enter the well, and use the lift to descend into Siofra River. Progress through this area by either defeating or sprinting through all the enemies, and you'll find a second lift. After you use this lift, follow the stream around the bend, and you'll find the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace on the left.

Scale the wall just behind this Site of Grace and head left. You'll see two neon blue enemies patrolling near a dead body you can loot. Dispatch these two mid-tier enemies and loot the body to find the Armorer's Cookbook [6]. You now have the ability to craft Perserving Boluses, which requires the following ingredients:

  • Dewkissed Herba (2)
  • Crystal Cave Moss (1)
  • Sacramental Bud (1)
