Revealed on Nov. 16, Dragon Ball: The Breakers is a new Dragon Ball-themed asymmetrical action game, in a similar vein to Dead by Daylight. The game is a new direction for the classic anime—a surprising break from fighting and action games.
But when does Dragon Ball: The Breakers release? According to the official reveal trailer, Dragon Ball the Breakers is scheduled for a 2022 release.
This isn’t too specific, but most expect that Bandai Namco won’t hold out on releasing this for too long. The company often has an impressive development turnaround on games.
The popular Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot game was first teased in Jan. 2019, with an official announcement trailer dropping in July of the same year. The game was then released in Jan. 2020, allowing just half a year between full announcement and release.
On this time scale, we could expect to see Dragon Ball: The Breakers in the first half of 2022. This means we’ll have to wait, but not too long.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers looks to be a genuinely new concept for a Dragon Ball game. Rather than focus on the super-powered heroes, the game looks to focus on some of the more low-powered characters as they escape from the villainous Cell. With its 7v1 asymmetrical gameplay, there’s really never been another Dragon Ball game like this.
