With Diablo 4's Season 1 underway, there's a healthy amount of new content to burn through. However, there is a quest line called Holding Back the Flood that many are struggling with, largely due to a lack of additional context associated with it. Thankfully, I've managed to crack the case and can give you the missing link needed to complete this obscure quest. Here's everything you need to know.
How to complete Holding Back the Flood in Diablo IV
During your adventures in Season 1, you'll eventually come across this quest in your quest log. As mentioned, the lack of context is why it is confusing. All it states is that you need to complete Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of the Season Journey. This is easy to miss, but Season Journey is actually a tab of its own, added at the beginning of Season 1.
To access the Season Journey tab, navigate over to the Season Pass screen and click on the Season Journey button. This will reveal to you a slew of objectives as well as Chapters that you need to complete in order to continue to progress. To finish Holding Back the Flood specifically, complete all of the objectives listed under Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 in the Season Journey. Doing this will give you your quest completion for Holding Back the Flood, and you will then be able to continue Season 1's overarching story. You're welcome.
