Diablo 4 All PvP Rewards – Field of Hatred Guide

Time to release your hatred! We have fields for you!

Diablo 4 is well-known for its expansive endgame content. As the genre veterans would say, the true game begins with the endgame, and this iteration stays true to the saying with its ever-progressing build upgrading and item hunting. Field of Hatred is another excellent way to farm for high-level gear to equip your character while keeping your gameplay fresh. This guide will explain how to farm your loot in Fields of Hatred, so let's dive right in!

Fields of Hatred is a chaotic event in Diablo 4 that combines both PvP and PvE elements. You can find the Fields of Hatred in the Dry Steppes. To activate this event, turn on Mark for Blood by pressing E on your keyboard and then scrolling through the wheel options. Be warned, once you do this, you will enter the PvP game mode in Diablo, making yourself targetable to other players as well. Deaths are still permanent if you're playing the Hardcore version of the game, so proceed with caution, especially if you're playing solo!

Once you activate the event, you must collect Seeds of Hatred by killing demons and other players in the area, which also have the Mark for Blood. When you collect enough Seeds of Hatred, you can convert them into Red Dust at a specific point called the Altar of Extraction. During this process, you will likely be killed multiple times, so don't be like me and amass large amounts of Seeds of Hatred because you will lose them all once you die, leaving them for your executioner to collect the bounty.

Becoming a Vessel of Hatred in the Fields of Hatred event in Diablo IV

If you accumulate enough Seeds of Hatred during the Fields of Hatred event in Diablo 4, you will become blessed by Mephisto, turning you into a Vessel of Hatred. At that point, the bounty on your head increases, with all nearby players looking to hunt you down for the extra rewards bonus. The golden threads I had during that period didn't help alleviate my feeling like a Treasure Goblin while everybody in the Fields was smacking me like a pinata, reminding me of the joys of PvP.

Once you convert the Seeds of Hatred into the Red Dust, the fruits of your labor become safe, as the Red Dust is bound to you and will not drop upon death like the Seeds. But on the other side of the scale, you will be rewarded with more loot and rewards the longer you stay in the arena being the Vessel.

Fields of Hatred rewards in Diablo IV

Partaking in Fields of Hatred in Diablo 4 will reward you with Red Dust, which you can spend at merchants for various items, including weapons and Transmogs. You can also obtain Pvp Ears for each PvP kill you make, which are trophies taken from previous games in the franchise, dating to Diablo 1. They don't have a purpose in the game, at least so far; it's more for a keepsake and a trophy. You can sell them for a single gold at vendors, but that would be more trouble than it's worth.

Fields of Hatred event mechanics in Diablo IV

Fields of Hatred event will apply special buffs to all participants. The buffs seem randomly picked and evenly polarized, providing both positives and negatives to players. There are also towns in the Fields, selling even-specific potions which you can use to help you during the event. You can purchase them for the Red Dust you collected. Here is the list of available options:

  • Cursed Scroll of Chaos: Teleports you to a random location in the Fields.
  • Cursed Scroll of Hatestalker: Reveals nearby hostile players and elites on the minimap for 15 seconds but also slows your movement speed by 15% during the same time.
  • ‍Cursed Scroll of Recklessness: Increases your movement speed by 40% for 15 seconds but also deals 2% of your maximum life as Bleed for the same time per second.
  • Cursed Scroll of Tranquility: Decreases damage taken from players by 30% but increases damage taken from mobs by 30%, lasting 20 seconds.
