Locking gear is a staple in the action-isometric RPG genre. With so much loot gushing out of the felled bodies of your worst enemies, sometimes you just need to save it for later. After all, the demons of Hell won't wait until you're ready. With Diablo 4, loot has many reasons why you'd save it for later instead of just dumping it. Surely, you can lock your loot drops in Diablo 4... right? Right?.
How do you lock your loot in Diablo IV?
You can't, but you could probably tell that by the end of my last statement. Blizzard has, for some reason, omitted the ability to lock your precious loot drops. Much like the UI situation, I can't understand why Blizzard would not put such a simple feature in. I have to wonder if they didn't think we'd all be hoarding loot until we had just what we needed to make the perfect piece. It is just as strange of an omission as the inability to hide your UI really.

The worst part about not being able to lock your loot, is when you go the blacksmith with an inventory full of rares. Some of those rares you want to keep, right? Well, if you do, then you can't press the 'Salavge all Rares' buttons, or else you'll lose them. Instead, you have the manually do it, and there's no other shortcut. Why must Blizzard torture us with unnecessary manual labor? I have no idea, but in the meantime, I suggest simply sorting the gear you're planning to keep but putting it in your Stash. I don't think we'll have to suffer such an injustice for much longer, but I guess we'll see.
