Trials of Osiris is officially back in Destiny 2 for the weekend of October 22, and fans of the notorious PvP competition will be jumping into the activity all weekend long until the reset. It shows up every other couple of weeks in rotation with Iron Banner, the other special crucible event. The Trials of Osiris is usually always a major highlight for the Destiny community since it always offers some of the best new weapons in the game that players are dying to get their hands on.
This weekend will be especially busy with the highly popular, incredibly deadly Reed's Regret Linear Fusion Rifle up for grabs. But if you have yet to pick up this weapon, Bungie has just made it that much easier to get.
How to Get It
If you haven't unlocked the weapon already, you would probably have to play a lot of Trials of Osiris in order for this weapon to drop. But even then it drops as a random Trials engram, making it that much harder to obtain.
Luckily, this week Bungie announced in their most recent TWAB (This Week At Bungie) article, that Reed's Regret will be obtainable by completing one of this week's seasonal challenges. The challenge in question is the Trail by Firing Squad challenge which rewards XP, Bright Dust, and an unknown Trials weapon that has now been confirmed to be Reed's Regret. The challenge requires Guardians to win 20 rounds in Trials of Osiris.
Now, this may seem like a daunting task and one that you probably don't want to put yourself through since Trials of Osiris is often linked to stressful competition and sometimes toxic behavior. But remember, the completion of this challenge is only hindered upon winning rounds, not whole matches.
So even if you lose the match, you will probably still win a round or two. And fortunately, even if you don't win 20 rounds by the time Trials of Osiris leaves upon reset, the challenge still remains active for the rest of the season. So, when Trials of Osiris comes back, you can still complete the challenge and get yourself that Linear Fusion Rifle.
Also, to make it easier, Bungie has added Freelance to Trials of Osiris for anyone wanting to play it without needing a fireteam at the start.
After getting Reed's Regret for the first time, you can then reroll it at Saint-14 in the Hangar every time you get a Trials Engram. There is also an Adept version, but this requires going flawless in Trials by winning 7 matches in a row. If you are up to that challenge, good luck to you.
