How to lock on and shoot an enemy with a fireball in Century: Age of Ashes

Take 'em down.

The most basic attack in Century: Age of Ashes is the fireball attack. With this attack, you hurl a flaming ball in front of you that deals damage to your enemies upon impact. Some players are not aware that you can lock on to your enemies to make the projectile less impossible of a shot and increase your overall damage output.

To lock on to an enemy, it's just a matter of aiming at them. You don't have to press any special button — you just need to wait until the targeting reticle around your enemy is green. An example of this can be seen in the image below.

In the image above, the reticle is green because it is pointed directly at the dragon and reveals its health bar. When this happens, you are locked on to an enemy, and you can fire at it by pressing your primary fire button (the default on the PC is the left mouse button). The fireball will follow the dragon until it collides with it or the terrain. Upon impact, some of the health bars will turn red, which tells you how much damage you did to them.

It's possible for the enemy to dodge the attack by ducking behind solid objects or doing sharp turns when it is close enough, which makes it important to fire multiple projectiles when you're locked on. You have no limit to how many projectiles you can fire, so keep clicking!
