Out of all the different types of creatures in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, Hellhounds are the only ones that can chase you down matter how fast you're running. If you want to farm Hellhound dog kills, follow this guide for the perfect strategy.
Best way to find Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies
Although extremely nimble, these dogs from hell can be killed easily with a few bullets and explode on death, dealing fire damage to nearby Zombies. The best method of attracting Hellhounds to you in MWZ is by doing the Outlast, Raid Weapon Stash, and Escort contracts. Several dogs will spawn while you're completing the contract objective, which I've explained below.
Outlast contract Hellhounds MWZ
Out of all the contracts, I prefer Outlast the most as Hellhounds just keep on spawning and attacking you, and you may get overrun if not prepared for a fight. Activate the PND and stay in the objective for the progress bar to fill, but you don't want to finish the mission. Go outside the Aether environment to pause the securing process to let the Zombies keep appearing.
Raid Weapon Stash contract Hellhounds MWZ
During the Raid Weapon Stash contract, place the drill on the safe and stay in its vicinity to continue the drilling progress. Just like the Outlast contract, Hellhounds and other Zombies will attack you in waves, but you can prolong the contract and force more dogs to spawn by moving away from the objective every once in a while (see image).
Escort contract Hellhounds MWZ
For this challenge, you have to escort an ACV while it harvests three different orbs in its path. Stay in close proximity to the vehicle for it to proceed and defend yourself from waves of Zombies. The Hellhounds start attacking your position from the start, therefore, I suggest you stand on top of the ACV and take out the dogs from there easily without taking any damage.
Besides the aforementioned techniques to farm Hellhound kills in MW3 Zombies, you can also visit the Medium Threat Zone (orange section of the map). I have often encountered these pups hanging around in the Tier 2 Zone while driving through the city.
