When is Round-based Zombies coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Zombies is going back to its roots.

Call of Duty: Vanguard provided a spectacular upgrade to Zombies. While the fundamentals of the mode remained the same, one major aspect, the gameplay style, was changed. In Vanguard Zombies, players have to complete "Objectives" and unlock new areas and quests on the map.

This change failed to appeal to the Zombies community as a whole. As such, to please the fans and bring back players, the developers have decided to reintroduce the original concept to the game. Treyarch has announced that round-based Zombies is coming to Vanguard in Season 4.

We're currently heading into Season 3, and more details will be shared once it concludes. According to the developers, time is required to work on elements like "design, implementation, testing of round-based wave spawning, AI pathing, zoning systems, fast travel mechanics, Door Buys, and Wall Buys."

As far as the lore is considered, the Dark Aether storyline will proceed, and we'll find out how it unfolds in the forthcoming seasonal updates. Additionally, one of the most iconic Zombies map, Shi No Numa from Call of Duty: World at War, will host the round-based game mode.
